Not sure how long this has been on tap when I tried it, but talk about 2 things that ruin this beer. color and calling it a saison.

A: black and its a saison? NOT. ok the brewer is free to call it what they will but using BJCP as a guide this is NOT a Saison. period, failed on that 1.

S: smelled off, metallic, cola, like, bad beer? bad lines, bad experiment, me thinks so. again Eric you make some good beers, this one, I mean come on open a DuPont and compare this is NOT a frigging Saison geez.

T: well I am glad its only a 10oz pour. no fruit, no spice, no hops, no flowers, well guess what its not a saison, again, metallic taste. off pepsi cola, after taste, flat, no body totally cluster fuck of a beer. Its a drain pour.

m: watery, flat, no carb, thin

o: worse beer Eric ever made besides his lager.

Total epic fail on this one. I made better saisons using web recipes, hell even Ben at Intuition cannot make a Belgian beer to save his ass, but at least his ale looked like and was in the ball park for a Saison, geez. So sad.

The wife tried it and spit hers out. It was so bad.

A: Body is a very dark, murky brown color. Weak, bubbly head with an off white color that quickly fades to sticky ring on the outer rim.

S: Funky, sour aroma (very excited:). Sharp tartness with fig undertones.

T: Wow, unlike any beer I've had before. Taste is just like the smell just opposite in direction. Rich bready, fig tones up front with with lightly sour funk fruityness and finishes with a lingering nuttiness like a brown ale.

M: Extremely light for a saison. Do not get a tingling bubbly sensation I am accustomed too. Lets the flavors stick to the pallet to fully take them in.

O: Unique beer, satisfied pallet. Highly recommended!

Very interesting brew, a black saison. Single finger off white rapidly dissipating head with nice lacing on a jet black body.

S: very interestIng. Almost has the aroma of a wild ale or lambic with some dark fruit, mesquite and lemon notes.

T: flavor is incredibly dynamic. Starts out with a roasted malt like a black IPA or stout. Moves to saison yeast and spice and finishes with a dark fruit flavor almost like a Belgian dark strong or wild ale. Never had anything like this. May be the most cmplex beer I have ever tried.

M: medium body and moderate to high carbonation.
