It's a pint can with 'best by 1/25/2026. They brought the AVB down to 5.8% this time (why?) Too many updates. It pours golden with loads of bubbles rising, nice lacing along the glass after settling to an 1/8" cap. Smell and taste are similar, certainly more lager-like than Marzen. Not one I'd stress over if not found often but enjoyable enough when it appears.

Some chill haze, about a finger of head, Minimal lacing, but a nice example of a fest beer intended for volume drinking. Some malt in smell and taste.

Handsome deep amber brew with plenty of foam in the chalice. Pleasant aroma of crackers, alfalfa, and cereal. Sudsy and prickly mouthfeel. Some roasted malt in the flavor and a touch of resiny hops. But overall it is well balanced between the sweet malt and the slight zing of hops. This is a quite drinkable if average Oktoberfest Lager. From the 16 oz can printed Best By 02/03/24.

Best before February 3rd, 2024 - enjoyed on September 10, 2023. Poured from a pint can into my Moonlight shaped pint glass.
Clear harvest gold to sunglow gradient beneath a fat ivory finger of dense lasting cream. Rich soapy lacing; excellent retention.
Bready, crackery malt in the nose with hints of lemon/orange zest and wild grass.
Rich, malty palate entry. Sweet in the middle with hints of toasted sugar and maize. Faintly tart (and initially metallic) with hints of dandelion. Lager yeast is distinctive but not perfectly clean. Medium, malty, but scattered finish. Low bitterness adds a little balance but retreats quickly.
Pillow soft mouthfeel, medium-bodied, creamy but almost refreshing.
A decent domestic festbier, but there is a lingering flavor (almost like sour socks) that mars my overall impression.

16 ounce can poured into a pint glass following a fresh Paulaner Festbier. Pour is deep gold in color and has a half inch of whitish foam which offers some retention initially. Just a hint deeper in color than the mothership beer. Aroma offers a malty depth typical to the style with a hint of lemon pledge. Touch of spice on the nose after the foam settles.
Taste was initially an affront on the senses but that may just be from a palate adjustment. The taste does mellow on the palate yet remains a bit thin for the style. I would assume the base malts are the cause of this. Lemon notes return on the finish to blend with the malt finish as the aroma improves and balances with some warming, yet still seems 'forced' in a sense. Overall a decent festbier but one that slightly misses the mark on multiple factors and costs more than Munich versions. $3 single from Trader Joes. Worth a try but one and done for me given economics stated above.
From website:
Malt- Weyermann Vienna and Pilsner, and a nice bit of Munich
Best by 12/04/24. That's a minimum of 16 months from canning date. This ain't an IPA but that still seems aggressive.
