Pours incredibly thin from the bottle but still forms a black color with a nice foamy head in the glass.
Slight barrel notes and hints of maple pair with caramel malts to comprise it's aroma profile.
Some oak, leather, and bourbon/booze notes are present from the time this one spent in a barrel. Lots of caramel. The maple flavor has diminished but an underlying sweetness from the maple sap remains.
The beer has a watery, fizzy texture. Overall it's pretty tasty but it's body could use a little more body and depth.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled 1/11/16.
Huge head on an aggressive pour, thick, foamy lacing, very dark and opaque. Smells awesome, especially as it warms. Bourbon, malt, maple, caramel, some vanilla, light chocolate and oak. The taste follows the nose with the bourbon and maple, malt, caramel, vanilla, some oak, light chocolate. A little cherry as it warms. Smooth, somewhat creamy, a pretty full body for the style.
Really well balanced between the bourbon, maple and malt. Brewing with the sap and syrup really brings out the maple flavor without being overly sweet. The right touch with the barrels elevates this way above the base beer alone.

Big thanks to Prager62 for this MI gem.
Pours a deep dark brown. Less than a finger of mocha colored foam. Looks like a vigorously poured coffee. Smell brings a melding of smooth whiskey, caramel, wood, and molasses. Taste is caramel, whiskey with hints of maple syrup. Mouthfeel is nice and full. Overall a really solid offering.

Nice and sweet with a nice smooth barrel on it with a nice maple that slowly covers you taste buds making for a nice over all feel. I feel this is one of the better limited release they've done this year.

Poured into a tulip glass this beer has a foamy beige head with a dark brown body. Smell of syrup, oak, light chocolate, caramel, coffee crisp, and biscuity malt. Taste of oak, maple syrup (especially the aftertaste), sweet malt, caramel, vanilla, and toffee. Fantastic. It has a full to moderate mouth feel with a rich strong complex flavor that lasts.
