Had at Hopcat Detroit. I was expecting more of a spicy, heated beer with a name like Atomic TaunTaun Overdrive, but I could barely taste any pepper flavor. It was a decent beer other than that, but I wish it had more heat.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours very hazy/cloudy/murky deep orange/amber/light copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy strawberries, habanero peppers, fruit skin/seeds, pear, red apple, melon, caramel, brown sugar, honey, wheat, white bread, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of strawberries, peppers, fruity yeast, dark/bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy strawberries, habanero peppers, fruit skin/seeds, pear, red apple, melon, caramel, brown sugar, honey, wheat, white bread, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy bitterness, pepper spiciness, and berry tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy strawberries, habanero peppers, fruit skin/seeds, pear, red apple, melon, caramel, brown sugar, honey, wheat, white bread, light herbal/grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, peppers, fruity yeast, dark/bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitter/spiciness and fruit tartness balance; with no cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness and fruit tartness. Medium carbonation and body; very smooth, creamy/silky/grainy, lightly sticky, and slightly acidic/tangy mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.7%, with minimal lingering pepper heat after the finish. Overall this is a delicious fruit beer. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, peppers, fruity yeast, dark/bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the minimally bitter/spicy finish. Mostly American wheat beer on base style. Great presence of juicy strawberries and pepper fruit flavors; with balanced malts and fruity American wheat yeast. Mild earthy hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Very impressive vs what I expected initially, not overdone on peppers with minimal heat.

12 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 11/9/17, had 1\23\18.
Pours a bubbly amber, a little cloudy, with a one and a half inch foamy head and a good amount of foamy lacing. Smells of strawberries, malt, some caramel, light vanilla- more as it warms, slight wine. A light floral aroma overall. The taste is malt, strawberries, habaneros, some vanilla and caramel. There’s a fair amount of warming from the peppers. Smooth, a good light to medium body, well carbonated.
The strawberries are great, maybe the best I’ve had in a beer, the habaneros are effective and not overdone. Not incredible, but really interesting and well worth a try.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep amber, cloudy with lost of suspended white particles. Thick off white head, settles slowly into a thin layer. Smells of strawberries and malt, a little floral. The taste is a mix of strawberry and sweet malt with some floral piney hops. The habanero comes in mid sip and lasts til the end, the pepper taste is not overdone, but has a nice earthy flavor with just a little burn at the end. Tart finish. Mouthfeel is ok, fairly smooth. This is an odd one but very well done.

On tap at the Greenbush brewery. Billed as a strawberry habanero ale. The strawberry is nice and fresh, the habanero isn't very strong. A slight amount of heat, but nothing like a true chile beer
