Consumed November 5th, 2011 at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.

Beer is a clear light yellow with a moderate white head.

Aromas of powdery yeast and sweet clover.

Flavor is sweet and lightly grainy with wheat and orange peel overtones. Moderately bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is dry and the tiniest bit prickly.

A nice witbier, to be sure, but Hoegaarden is still my favorite.

On-tap @ Blue Palms Brewhouse - served in a tulip.

Pale straw liquid, brilliantly clear and light (filtered), crowned by a heavy ivory finger. Dense creamy tendrils of lace; very good retention.

Tangy marriage of wheat and orange zest in the nose, balanced by a touch of spice (more likely from the actual addition of coriander rather than from any yeast derived phenols). Otherwise, very clean aroma.

Quite pale base, almost sterile in presentation it is so sparkling squeaky clean with only a modest presentation of flavor. Delicate alfalfa, lemon zest and wheat converge mid-palate before crystalizing into a crisp faintly spiced finish.

A touch thin, again probably owing to the filtration.

A highly drinkable refreshing summer ale, though I get the impression the brewers took more pains to avoid getting things wrong than they did working to get things right - so we are left with a faultless, but rather dull example of the style.
