Hazy burnt salmon-amber with a short but persistent off-white head leaving fine arms of lace.
I swear I did not drink this before the Stiftung Hell I had prior to, which I happened to detect Concord grape characteristics within. I had no idea this contained Concord grapes when the old lady ordered it, but holy shit, coincidence?
The Concord here is plenty present, but its mild sweetness meets a measured acidity contrasted by an herbal bitterness within its fluffy farmhouse body. It's got a really pleasant barnyard funk accented by straw and grass, working really well together overall.
At the same time, the intensity of the Concord here makes it seem less distinctive in the helles, while at the same time affirming my palate association that it did indeed have those purple grape qualities after all.

750 ml bottle poured into a chalice.
Pours a hazy mahogany color with a minimal effervescent pinkish white head. No lacing or retention. Settles into a thin ring.
The aroma brings notes of barnyard funk, grape juice, grass and hay. Earthy and fruity.
The flavor is lightly tart, funky, fruity and earthy. Notes of apple cider vinegar, grape skin, grape juice, and barnyard funk. Very grassy on the finish.
The feel is medium-light bodied with effervescent carbonation. Crisp, clean and dry.
Overall, this is a good farmhouse ale that comes exactly as advertised. There's loads of grape juice, but there's a ton of rustic earthiness that you come to expect of the style. Not even close to being worth the $17 pricetag but still a good beer overall.
