Collaboration with Finback Brewery
Spill The Tea is an aromatic India Pale Lager brewed with green tea and lemon, orange and grapefruit peel. A combination of Citra and Mosaic hops pairs well with the extra citrus and the green tea gives this brew a drying, astringent finish. The ABV clocks in at 5.4% which makes it an easy-drinking, lighter bodied IPL that’s ideal for the upcoming July heat! Brewed in collaboration with Finback Brewery out of Queens, NY.

This has been a great day for making lemonade out of lemons for The CANQuest (tm)! My local, in-person trading partner @tone77 was going to stop over for a CANbined drop-off/pick-up until I realized that I have a buncha stuff for him that requires greater prep. 8=( It has given me time to really delve deeply into the depths.
From the CAN: "With Green Tea & Citrus Peel"; "Beer brewed with Citrus and Tea".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line glug & then sat back as it foamed up mightily. It settled into two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with excellent retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose reminded me of Orange Pekoe tea when I was a lad - slightly citrusy, but definitely tea-like! Mmm. Man, I was really looking forward to something mellow at this point & this could be it. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, nothing out of spec for the style. The taste was VERY mellow, more like lemon than orange, but very tea-like. I started to feel like I was in an overseas tearoom. Things were beginning to soften out at the edges as I drank, my cares & inhibitions melting away. Phew! Man, the tea really drove the show with a light grassy lemoniness underneath. This was making me ravenous for some oriental food, maybe some nice sushi! Nomnomnom. Oh, man, why are the best beers seemingly-always either one-offs or retired?!? Finish was semi-dry & very refreshing. CANtastic!

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bright golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of grapefruit, orange peels. Taste is citrus, grapefruit, orange peels, mild tea notes, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a beer worth trying.

On tap at 2 Bros. Pours a hazy, dirty looking yellow color with 2 inches of frothy head. Some lacing. The aroma is green tea, lemon, grapefruit and orange. Maybe some floral hops as well. The taste is more of the citrus fruits. Grapefruit and lemon mostly with some herbal/floral hops and green tea. Grapefruit and lemon peel finish. Lots of carbonation with a dry mouthfeel. Very little alcohol warmth. Some light bitterness.Great blend of flavors.

Very pale and clear. This beer smells great - hoppy, lemony, grassy, with an herbal quality I'm assuming comes from the tea. The taste is crisp and refreshing - the lager yeast is not prominent but you can tell it's a lager. Really interesting and tasty. yb

Poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a semi-pale yellow color with a two finger white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Sliding lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of the green tea with the melon up front, some cracker malts play gently in the background. Some warming helped the citrusy to piney hops come out pretty nice for a better balance.
The flavor leaned a bit more hoppy having some bitterness coincide fairly nice with the green tea sweetness and melon. Quickly sliding melon to green tea aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Definitely has the green tea in the finish which really helped smooth it out, damn nice and mobile.
Overall, I had to let it warm a bit to let the aroma match the flavor because initially, it really wasn't the same and I thought there was something wrong, but this beer does it's good favor and is well worthy of having again.

Can from Kelly and Paul, thanks.
Hazy straw color with a good sized bubbly white head that persists. Citrus earthy pine with a crackery maltiness and a bit of a tannic tea bite. Pretty good beer.
