For our 3rd Crew Brew Series, one of our newest employees Tina, chose the English beer style Extra Special Bitter. Her version features Simpsons Finest Pale Ale Marris Otter and Crystal Malts from the UK which create a beautiful mahogany color and impart a rich malt character of toasted biscuit, caramel and toffee to this beer. To bring the malt character into balance, English varietal Fuggle and Golding hops are used with intent, which creates a magnificent interplay between malt and hops. Perceived hop aroma is limited with earthy and light stone fruit notes, hop bitterness is moderate but quickly dissipates in conjunction with diminishing sweetness.

12oz can. Stamp on bottom lip reads 'CANNED ON 04/08/24'.
Cloudy, deep amber colored body. Off white head sticks around as a thin cap and high ring. Leaves behind extensive lacing webs.
Aroma of lightly roasted malts, stone fruit, and earthy hops.
Taste is reflective of the nose, with a very malty flavor with stone fruit accents. Hops are earthy. Moderate bitterness and a modicum of sweetness. Earthy malts in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. Metallic in the mouth. Good carbonation.
Strong flavors with a noticeable bitterness.
