this is cool beer, they should can it. its a nice bright pale ale, livened up further with pineapple juice. the pineapple is a cool edition to this style, and i think its a smart call to have it be a pale ale and not an ipa, the hops would be sort of overkill i think if it was anything more than it is, so nice choice there. i like the pineapple, it works in the beer, and isnt overly sweet or anything, its still beer first. it doesnt taste like fresh pineapple though, it tastes like the big cans of the juice you get, has that tinny thing going on, and just doesnt pop the way fresh pineapple does. that said, the tang of the juice adds a cool element, and it really comes together about as well as it possibly could. i used to be all jazzed up on these guys, they used to be so inventive and tasty, but have seemed to halt their evolution a bit as the packaged beer has taken priority for them. this restores a little faith, its pretty awesome, and just right for summer kicking off. this would crush it in cans.

Pours a two finger yellowed head over a brilliant apricot copper liquid. Smells tame. Resinous hops, pine, mildly of pineapple, cardboard oxidation, grassy American hops. Cherry and mango with searching.

Tastes non-descript bitter and acidic. Pineapple, pine, resinous hops. Dry, light in the mouth, flavors evaporate quickly after the swallow and leave a hint of waxy bitter lingering. Not much here. Not bad, but worth trying something different if available.
