on tap at the bicycle cafe on 17th and lafayette. pours only a little bit cloudy, bright bronze color with a pancake batter thick off white head, lovely. smells a bit like perfume, lavender or lilac or something, some herb notes, citrus peel, and mildly spicy yeast. flavor is wild, way way different from anything ive had. notes of basil are quite strong, sweet italian basil just ready to flower, very aromatic and oily almost, not too strong. they go surprisingly well with that floral flavor and the yeast rounds it all out. very very unique brew. feel is excellent as well, plenty of body for a saison, and perfectly robust carbonation. this is a very sessionable saison, well and truly one of the most clever beers ive had in a long long time. a must try.
