Pours a dark caramel color, traces of red can be seen when held up to the light, minimal head. Big aroma of dark fruit: dried fig, raisin. Sweet with a touch of tartness, very smooth. Raisin, dates, plum, cherry, bourbon barrel. Very smooth and creamy. Overall an awesome brew.

Muddy dark brown with a dense creamy tan finger of foam that slowly settles to a thin film and a thick curled collar.

Smell is a complex and wonderful mix of soaked oak bringing aromas of maple, black pepper and vanilla with additional touches of dark fruit, toffee and molasses

On the tongue, bourbon is very prominent up front, almost seeming like it will dominate, but it eases into a toasty Quad profile with cocoa dusted fig, graham, spicy sassafras and vanilla oak that's a little splintery and woody, and quite aged. It then even dares to leave you with a toffee and fudgy Oreo exhale after the swallow. As it warms, I get creamy coconut peanut butter, straight from Hawaii. No, really.

A medium body has a light but widely dispersed bubbly carbonation, finishing semi-hot, semi-dry, with a sticky swallow.

750ml bottle into a snifter, drank on 10/15/16.

Very dark brown that shows red and amber highlights when lit. For its age, a sturdy 1F tan head and nice lacing.

Rich bready malt and lots of dark fruit. Vanilla, oak and whiskey. Slightly sweet from the bourbon, perhaps.

It tastes like a Thanksgiving feast fruit platter; figs, prunes, plums, raisins, chocolate, and whiskey soaked scones.

It's a mouthful. The alcohol is tempered with age, and the brew still comes on strong.

A 12% abv with lots of flavor ain't easy.

With Kane's anniversary coming up I decided to pop one of last year's anniversary brews. I'll say this, I'm damn glad I aged 3 of the 4 bottles I scored as it was good fresh but its awesome aged. Its obviously just under a year old and the flavor is so much better, it smoothed out with less booze hit. So much going on and such a nice finish. Not on the level of ANTEAD or Sunday Brunch ( few are ) but another stellar offering from NJ's # 1 Brewery. Cheers
