Unfiltered lager inspired by a European Pilsner brewed with extra pale conditioned pilsner malt, hopped with German Hallertau Blanc and Czech Saaz and fermented with out house lager strain.

Very good head production, but retention and lacing are lacking. Body is a bit lighter in color than most others in the style.

Lovely and fairly complex aroma for the style, with plenty of grassy, bark-like notes from the hops and just the slightest touch of citrus, blending well with the semi-sweet malt notes of white dough and honey.

Leans on the sweeter side, but not unpleasantly so - and there's none of the overly malty aftertaste associated with mass produced AALs. Tasting notes of pale cracker, white dough, light honey, bark, hay.

This is an excellent and very tasty pilsner.

The look is a not quite clear straw yellow, that produces a fluffy white head that reduces to a white cap on the top that leaves lacing along the sides of the glass. The smell is biscuity malts and herbal noble hop notes. The taste follows the smell, pilsner malts and noble hops, very authentic German/Czech flavor. The mouthfeel is smooth and perhaps a little flat for the style. Overall, this is a fine brew, that when fresh matches up with its German/Czech counterparts. I initially gave the look of this beer a lower score, but when I looked up the description, it indicated that it was unfiltered

Pours a translucent light lemon color. Fast receding head. Near the bottom of the SRM . Smells of oyster crackers and grain. Taste is predominately spicy/peppery with a lemon drop background.Nice malt body is evident. Feels crisp and medium bodied with a semi dry finish. Overall a nice rendition of a Bohemian Pils. Not quite as tasty as an original Pilsner Urquell

A- A fairly clear golden straw color with a small white head.

S- Sweet bread, some pilsner malts, earthly, touch of citrus, a little herbal.

Light and sweet with the slightest sour tinge on the backend. Beautiful pilsner color with a nice mouthfeel. I've had a lot of mediocre craft pilsners, but I was honestly quite impressed with this one. Some sweet malts with small bitterness. It could've had a cleaner, drier finish, but it's still a fine beer that I would certainly drink again.

On tap at Kane. It is what it is, nothing special. 10% Duvel 90% Budweiser.

Can to snifter.
Similar thoughts, but maybe the above makes it sound worse than it is.
It has some pleasant simple flavors and its drinkable enough; just not in the league of most other Kane beers, granted the style is a bit boring, so what more could you expect.

Growler purchased 11/26/16 at brewery. Poured into Kane tulip glass.

L: 2F head with good lacing, retention, and a little ring and cap. Beer is a clear light amber with carbonation bubbles, just how you would want a nice Pils to look.

S: Very strong Pils forward as you might expect, with Saaz hops and yeast behind. Very basic, but good.

T: Nice malty taste up front with Pils and some citrus notes. Slightly yeasty and bready on back end. This is a nice lager.

F: Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Good construction and balance.

O: As nice a Pils as I have ever had. I keep saying this is going to be the next big area of advances in craft beer and I don't think I'm wrong. A nice change of pace from extreme hoppiness and definitely not your father's Budweiser or Miller.
