One of Kanes better limited release beers. A bit different than the traditional Head High.

Appropriate sunset orange...transforming into na burnt amber from fresh yolk yellow. Firm and creamy head; juicy and tight nose. Who doesn't want a mango, red banana, vanilla bean and tangerine smoothie to wake up to? Tart raspberry coulis on the tongue, zesty citrus and blueberry buckle; so, some dough and honey tangerine sneak in. The yeastiness is really tame in aroma, but flowers more in flavor and feel. A bit of chalk in the feel, med-low carb, somewhat spicy bite...peanut shells and blue spruce.
Overall, big and juicy tropical notes; roughly hewn malt and sharp spice character; fairly juicy, but short of smooth.

16 ounce can in a Kane branded tulip glass.

Another mimosa looking liquid, hazed and opaque, 1-plus F white cap, fat ring of lacing.

Smells of alcohol, dry yeast and grain, some herbs and hooch.

Sweet onion juice, I guess. Some fruitiness.

There's body but it is generally unpleasant. It has that juice quality rather than "beer" quality.

This style IPA leaves me unimpressed, generally. No exception here.

Love the flavor. The hop profile is unique. Dank, oniony, marijuana-esque. Very different in a good way. I don't care for the malts/grist which detracts from the beer in a minor way. It's not that it has a ton of character malt, but the base malt is a little old/dusty tasting. A little boozy, possibly from a quick fermentation and not enough dryhops to cover it up. Other than that, this is an excellent beer, but not for $18/4-pack.
