Pours a nice dark dark brown with a really nice dense slowly forming light brown creamy looking head that leaves some lacing. Settles to a substantial ring and some thin islands in the middle.
A very pleasant smelling nose; almost like a coffee vanilla ice cream. What is nice is the substantial and rich coffeeness it has, it is more coffee than dessert.
The taste is as pleasant as the nose suggest; deep rich black coffee that is mellowed up by some vanilla like sweetness. I've never actually had an affogato (espresso over ice cream) but I'm guessing it is reminiscent of this beer. There is a noticeable roastiness to the taste as well that lingers after the sip.
Full bodied beer that drinks very smooth; it has a creamy soft carbonation, there is a subtle sweetness and a roast driven bitterness on the finish.
This is a very well made beer IMO, it is as advertised (coffee and vanilla) and very well balanced and drinkable. The balance between the coffee and vanilla is about perfect if you ask me; the best of both worlds. The lactose rounds it out and gives it a smoothness that is quite nice. I'd venture so say this is one of the most enjoyable coffee beers I've had and I usually do not like coffee in beer.

Pours black with a substantial, creamy tan head, this is the picture in the dictionary for an imperial milk porter. The nose features rich milk chocolate, roasty coffee, and decadent vanilla bean. I am salivating.
The taste is led by the milk chocolate, and it melds perfectly with the roasty coffee and vanilla bean flavors. What stands out is the complete absence of alcohol on the taste in this 9.2% ABV beer - how is that even possible?
The mouthfeel is rich, creamy, and decadent. I could literally drink a keg of this.

Pulling back from the normal treatment of stout, Kane Brewing looks to the base flavor, balance and intensity of porter instead in order to showcase the Rook coffee, vanilla, milk sugars and subtle bourbon spice to their fullest potential.
Morning Bean settles into the glass with a comforting pour of creamy cascading action and an eventual settling of latte whipped froth as its cap. With the sultry scent of coffee, chocolate, nuttiness, creaminess and alcohol spice drifting across the nose, its scent is robust yet soothing simultaneously. Malty sweetness sets the tone in flavor as the full complement of caramel, toffee and chocolate layer on the tongue.
As the tastebuds saturate with the malt sweetness, the complementary flavors of coffee bring an off-espresso tone with slathering of sweet cream, marshmallow and nougat through its center. Trending slighlty spicy with a simmering savory warmth of kahlua and vanilla, the softer aspects of the spices give the session a cappuccino lightness with a soft and nutty bitterness to close out the taste.
Full bodied because of its imperial status, the beer sips like a more drinkable ale as the flavors of vanilla and cream create a silky smooth mouthfeel with an extension of soft spices that sooth the coffee, roast and alcohol for that java latte character through and through.

Pours black, small brown head. Aroma of coffee, light vanilla. Taste is pretty balanced and not too sweet. Mix of coffee and vanilla, even a bit of cocoa in there somewhere. Silky feel to it. Not sure if this is an improvement over original Morning Bell, which is one of my favorites. Still excellent.

Poured into a pint glass via bottle
color is a cocoa brown with tan foam
smell is sweet coffee but not overpowering at all, getting a bit of vanilla and caramel
taste follows the nose..coffee is a bit more muted
carbonation is high for a porter
mouthfeel is medium
based on the other Porters/Stouts i've had from Kane, this one had high expectations for but falls a bit short here
definitely the lowest rated one I've had from the brewery

Bottle to tulip glass. Thanks to DC for sharing.
Vanilla aroma is very nice. Somewhat overwhelms the coffee, but it melds perfectly in the taste.
Actually a bit better colder. Lost some vanilla as it warmed.
Another awesome dark beer from Kane.
