This was the third Port Omna release from Kane this year that I was able to obtain from a friend in a trade. Once again, this was a nice beer that was suited for year-round imbibing although it wasn't as different from the other iterations as I would have liked. Thankfully, the heft was reserved and the flavor smooth as this was a nice sipper that was fitting for the end of the day!
Of course, this had a dark brown hue to it with a full, bubbly head of tan foam that took it's time to settle down. Very little lacing was left behind as the suds slid down the side of my pint glass after each sip. A subtle nuttiness was in the nose, along with coffee creamer and cacao nibs as the taste was cloying, subtly sweet, and softly nutty. Not a lot of carbonation here as this almost felt like a Breakfast Stout because the alcohol was hardly noticeable.
This got richer as it warmed up as it felt like a pure dessert by the time I finished it off. Canned on 3/4, this held up well and felt fresh-brewed - but in the sense of coffee and not beer. Plenty of nuts in the back along with the lingering sense that I forgot to swirl in a packet of sugar. This didn't need the latter as it was a well-rounded beer that was easily enjoyable and a worthy addition to this year's releases!
