growler from the brewery - served in tulip - thanks pat
Pours a cloudy, hazed golden orange with a thinner layer of white head. Fades out while leaving some spotty rings of lacing while drinking.
Juicy citrus hops laced with mango and tropical fruits in the nose. Bitter with light sweetness driven by fruit and bready malts. Touch of caramel and warmth.
Decent hop bitterness up front, followed by citrus juice and tropical fruit. Decent amount of mango flavor, although a bit muddled within the profile. Hint of butteriness in the malt backbone with caramel, bread crust and sweetness. Finishes bitter with grapefruit, mango and pineapple.
Medium body, well carbonated, dry and sticky on the tongue. This smelled really nice but didn't quite translate into the flavor profile, and the slight buttery twang kept throwing me off, especially since regular Head High is probably my favorite NJ beer of all time.
