When you task your sales team impractical exercises like relating truffle tripels, wasabi sours, and salted clam ales to a world thirsty for more IPAs, it’s only right to take their notions seriously every now and again. Stormy is the brainchild of our lead sales guy Doug. We took some of our Ship Wreck Porter, an un-spiced imperial honey porter aged in Brinley Gold spiced rum barrels, added a couple of pounds of raw ginger, and let it spend an additional half year in barrel. Drink Stormy because Doug isn't just a sales genius.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a pitch black color with a short finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Slight trickles of lace.
The aroma had some dark roasted malts, light coffee roast, some honey, dried sweet wood, some ginger, a whiff of vanilla extract and ended with a little bit of cocoa powder.
The flavor was moderately sweet running into the ginger and coffee roast pretty damn nice. Aftertaste was fully loaded with the sweetness and richness of the malts awakening the spices ever so slightly.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. ABV did feel appropriate because my original review of this was done fresh. Carbonation felt fine. Slight tickle of spice in the finish.
Overall, this is one of those imperial porters that BA doesn't recognize but I'm okay with giving this great marks due to the fact that everything came out well done. Thanks to Jason for the share!

Dark and pitch black, small tan head and spotty lacing. Sweet, spicy, rum and ginger fill the nose. Notes of roasted grain, spicey wood, ginger, and honey sweetened light coffee. Full, thick, coating, somewhat dry and slight hint of the abv. You need to like ginger for this, I almost knocked it down a bit but only because of my disposition to the ginger qualities.
