(16 oz can, journey began 02/10/25; purchased cold 4-pack at their taproom last week... poured into a Carton mug)
like the Latigo I just had, this one:
- is also pale, straw-gold, but a bit more foam, thicker, crustier
- has that sour mash, grainy/grassy funk
of itself:
- more 'Alpine' herbal/evergreen hoppiness, but short of resinous
- gets hoppier sip over sip
- bit more silky mouthfeel
- much more depth to its flavor, despite having 1.3% less abv than Latigo
overall:
- Frusta (with its hybrid Czech/German Pils' taste) is better than Latigo , but I'd rather have the latter con comida (2418)

Poured into a pint glass….familiar gold color with just a little foam. Smell is citrus and malts. Taste follows ….some corn…a little watery. Goes down easy with medium fizz. An easy drinker.

16 Oz can. Pours golden with white head. Aroma is of floral hops and bready malt. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Herbal hops and bready malt fill the mouth. Long dry finish. Refreshing brew.

Classic Euro-pilsner-lager. But it's too grainy for me.
a) Excellent lemon clear body with ample lace and last.
s) Lemon, grass, grain, malt.
t) Follows aroma, but more grain, almost corn feel.
f) Crisp yes, grain pulls it down a bit.
o) Just like a pour in northern italy or luxembourg. But that's also part of the problem. Yet being as good as any gets a 4.

WOW.....Pilsners abound these days, but many are missing something. Too light, no body, an empty finish....Carton solved all of that with this one. I got one of the last four packs in early Sept, shared too many, so I only had one and wish they'd make this year round.
I'm not big on describing taste, but this had everything the others are missing.

It’s a very pretty straw colored beer. Zero head retention or lacing on it, after the initial pour head dissipated quickly.
Aroma is very earthy and it smells a little sweet and like straw oddly a enough, but I guess that counts as earthy. The taste is very good and similar to the nose but earthiness shines most on the palate. It actually has a really nice mouth feel, medium carbonation, low bitterness. It goes down super clean and finishes incredibly clean as well. Causing me to drinking more than half in the time it took me to write this. I’d say that’s a very good thing. Do I wish I bought a four pack, probably. What I like most about this is the earthy smell and taste combined with such a crisp and clean finish

Truly a fantastic beer. A beautiful waft of light hops hits your nose when you crack the can. The beer is light, clean, easy drinking, and perfectly balanced. It's hoppy in more of an American style but it's not overdone. Delightful in every way. yb
