Light golden in colour, with hints of apple and pear, soft herbal (oregano) and buttered toast notes, with light bitterness on the finish.

Pours a nice gold colour with a loose head on top. The taste is not much, maybe a bit of cereal if anything. The taste boasts a sweetness uncommon in other lagers, which makes this lager a little tastier than the others. March 28 2021

473 mL can from the LCBO; no packaging date, but it's listed at 4.3% according to the sticker slapped onto the label. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a blonde-yellow colour with some chill haziness; gathered atop is roughly one finger of foamy, sparkling white head that recedes within two minutes or so. A modest collar and a few filmy wisps are all that remain; no lacing to speak of. As for the aroma, it's not exactly what I'd call aromatic, but what's there is nothing unusual for the style - grainy sweetness and doughy malts, accompanied by faint hints of lemon zest and grassiness.
A decent pale lager - there's honestly not too much to say about this one, as it keeps things simple. I'm tasting clean pale malts - grainy and a little crackery, with hints of bready sweetness followed by a touch of lemony, grassy hops at the finish. Light in body, with moderately low carbonation levels that gently brush against the surface of the tongue, providing a little bit of crispness to this smooth-textured lager. Excellent in terms of drinkability, not so much in terms of memorability.
Final Grade: 3.57, a B grade. Caribru Lager is not particularly exciting, but it's good enough to get the job done. There's nothing necessarily bad or flawed here... it's just one of those non-descript lagers that largely blends into the crowd. It's still worth a try if you're a pale lager enthusiast, or even just a ticker - a respectable brew that I'd consider returning to at some point in the future.
