This is the 37th anniversary brew and is a special update to their normal "Saison de Suitcase"
This arrives in a chalice with a little foam on the top, but not too much head. The color is a just a touch below what I'd call golden. It's along the lines of a helles, although that's the only similarity. It's perfectly clear and carbonation is pretty mild.
This brew has a lot of sweet fruity elements. Apples and pears come to mind immediately. It has a little Belgian yeast to add a hint of spice but the flavors lean in the direction of a Belgian Golden (a la Duvel). Still, there's a little funk in there to keep it interesting. Hops keep this from being insanely sweet, but I think they were pretty frugal with them.
Still, much like everything at the B&B, the alcohol is fairly well hidden and having multiples in one sitting is no problem.
Not bad. It's a kicked up Saison that paired well with the turkey sandwich I had.
