Served in a shaker pint glass at the tap room.
Tighthead's "pumpkin beer" eschews the pumpkin in favor of yams, much like The Bruery's Autumn Maple. It pours a mostly clear sunset russet-amber topped by a finger of glowing off-cream-white foam. The nose comprises brown sugar, light cinnamon, sweet caramel, light sweet potato, and a mild hint of ginger. The taste brings in more of the same, with everything coming through a bit earthier, a bit spicier. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda dry finish. Overall, a nice autumnal beer, a decent change-up (however mild of one it may be) from your usual pumpkin beer.
