Had never heard of Latitude 33 deciding to release different styles of Native Trails (which I had never tried) prior to having the Black & Blue one on March 3 and the Chocolate Peanut Butter one on March 28. Love this vastly underrated brewery and was happy to see a few new beers from them on a recent visit to Windmill Farms. Can described this as, “Join us on a rotating flavor experiment. Poured a pitch black color with three fingers of frothy khaki tan head. Some slow moving bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled roasted coffee, vanilla, bitter dark chocolate, dark caramel, roasty hazelnut and toasted wheat bread. More vanilla and hazelnut from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t as good as the nose. Got artificial vanilla, espresso, bitter dark chocolate, hazelnut, caramel and toasted wheat bread. (Taste - 3.75)
Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, roasty finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Probably a slightly overrated 4.00 overall, but still really good. (Overall - 4.00)
