Served on tap into a 16 oz (473 ml) conical pint glass at Growlers Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe, NY.
A: Pours a very, very dark brown color with mahogany highlights, a one finger, tan head, more than rim retention, and rings of lacing.
S: Aromas of sweetened coffee, birch/sarsaparilla, and toffee.
T: Semisweet. Flavor is a melange of the aromas with moderate and balancing bitterness offsetting some of the sweetness.
M: Light to medium bodied with no more than moderate carbonation. Very drinkable.
O: A very tasty Brown Ale. Very, very easy drinking.

Fantastic - dep black-brown beer in the glass, not-too sweet, hint of char on the roasted malts, earthy and deep, wonderful balance between bitterness and warm brown malty roast...

Tall can, I can find no canning date kind of info...I do appreciate that they put some food pairing info on the label.

Typical looking dark brown pour, moderate medium khaki cap and leaving some spotty bits and strands of lacing.

Dark malts and some nuttiness on the nose.

On the palate its more dark malts....some vanilla, and light maple...nothing overly amazing going on here, just a slightly better then decent take on the style.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear dark cola brown with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation/nitrogenation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and faint chestnut brown + ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger dense creamy foamy light tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of roasted, toasted, chocolate, and bready malts with light amount of nutty + charred malts and light amounts of caramel sweetness. Light aromas of earthy hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of roasted, toasted, chocolate, and bready malts with light amount of nutty + charred malts and light amounts of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of earthy hops. There is a light to moderate amount of roasty bitterness in the finish which lingers for a short amount of time.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and creamy (likely due to being served on nitro).

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a really pleasantly smooth creamy mouthfeel when served on nitro. Enjoyable.

Big thanks to UncleJazz for the bottle

Pours a deep clear brown with reddish hues with a tall, sudzy off-white head, good retention falling to a creamy collar leaving nice lacing. The nose features roasted malt, chocolate and light coffe. The taste again hits first with roasted grain, chocolate, light coffe, some nice biscuit/bread and a bit of char finishing with some nice bitterness. Full, smooth and round on the palate with nice carbonation; definitely feels bigger than than its 6.2%. A great example of the style reminding me of DFH Indian Brown.

really enjoyed this brown ale here, a christmas gift from my brother. thanks dude. shared with some friends up in vail this weekend. its a sturdy one as they go, quite a bit darker than is standard for the style. not quite porter dark, but its definitely the dark chocolate side of brown, with as much roast to the nose as there is cocoa, and a dancing tan head on top. nice nice nice. great depth on the grain front, beginning with a subtle caramel sweetness that moves into a coffee bitter to cancel it out almost as fast as it starts. neat how the darker of the grains jumps out in front of the chocolate malt, a little role reversal there, really appropriate. notes of burnt sugar and unmalted dark barley in the finish, but its not sweet, its neutral. hearty enough to satisfy after a day on the slopes, but not so weighty as to sacrifice drinkability. my kind of brown ale, with a decent bittering hop on the finish too, and maybe a touch of grain hull tannins as it goes down. not offensive by any stretch. i almost regret sharing this one because my glass was gone way too quick. impressed by these guys in my limited exposure.

Got this in a flight at the Tap House, nice deep brown color with not a huge aroma. Hint of chocolate and toffee. Taste was really nice with the chocolate, caramel, and toffee...very small hop bite that kept this from probably being overly sweet.

Bomber. BB date is May with no year.

Appearance: reddish brown with a nice rocky tan head. Some sediment in the glass.

Nose: milk chocolate, coffee, raisins, coffee

Taste: freshly roasted coffee, chocolate, caramel, figs, fruity with some spice from the hops. Bitter finish. Nice full body I expect from this brown ale.

Great local example of a brown ale. I've had their blonde as well and it is also done very well.

One of my favorite brown ales. Great malt backbone, perfect body, mouthfeel, and head. Darn smooth and not too sweet. It's an A.

Very bold brown ale with a substantial roasty malt presence, and a smooth creamy mouthfeel.

Extremely good brown ale. If you like this style, you need to try this one.
