Retired? Far from it. This is readily available in my neck of the woods. And in cans. Anywho, I had initially written this brewery off based on my opinion of there Wicked Snout Farmhouse. Some time passed, I came to realize that farmhouse wasn't my bag and my opinion of the brewery was thus unfair. Which brings me to All Hopped Up. This beer looks fantastic but for me was super foamy no matter how gently I poured. I at first thought it was because of my rigorous tugging to get it off the tree hugging hard plastic 6 pack thingies. This proved not to be the case as I separated the rest and still foamy the next day. Maybe I got an overly carbonated sixer, who knows? Smelled fantastic and tasted great once the foam had receded. I've tasted my share of ipas available in my area and this falls in the upper echelon. Can't wait to try again to see if the foam thing was kind of a fluke.

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Lagunitas mason jar
From: My friend Chad
Price: ??
Purchased: ?? (received it on Nov. 1, 2014)
Consumed: Nov. 6, 2014
Misc.: N/A
Thanks Chad!
Poured a dark orange, caramel, murky color with two fingers of frothy head. This was after I opened the can and it spilled everywhere flying out of the opening. A decent amount of foamy, spiderweb lacing along the sides of the glass. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled spicy imperial malts in the beginning. Got wet cascade hops, spicy imperial hops, peppery spices, light mint, lime, Citra hops, floral hops, menthol, honey, herbal hops, slight urine and some orange rind. (Smell - 3.25)
Tasted nothing like I thought after the smell and nothing good. Got medicine cabinet, rubbing alcohol, Ben-Gay, peppermint, herbal hops, menthol, honey, hay and manure. (Taste - 1.75)
Medium body. Thin texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Bitter, abrupt, mediciny finish. (Feel - 2.00)
This was not a good beer at all. It was a good-looking beer, but that was it. Maybe it was just spoiled, but ouch. (Overall - 1.75)

No dating or ABV info listed on the can. The brewery's website doesn't even list this beer...
Dark copper colored pour with a thick, sticky, bubbly head (4.0). Rather low-key pine aroma; lots of sweet caramel smell (3.25). Sweet tasting; malty; caramel; hop bitterness comes around slowly but distinctly way into the finish (3.25). Medium bodied; smooth feel (3.25).
Rather disappointing in this day and age of American IPAs, primarily because the hop presence (aroma and flavor) are pretty subdued. This beer is way malt-forward and just doesn't quite fit the newer styles of an IPA, especially with the wording "All Hopped Up" on the labeling. This is still a flavorful and decent enough beer, but probably fills an amber ale category better than an IPA styling.
