Big thanks to utopiajane for leaving this one in the cooler, found today, appreciated the surprise for sure!

This baby pours coal black, nice lighter than a stout look, but thickish for a porter and opaque. Only a finger of tan head, but it manages to last for the ride. A swirl leaves a fine bubbled lace wallpaper on glass.

Quite a bit going on in a low strength aroma, light roast, chocolate, coffee, caramel, and a vanilla sweetness underlaid that makes it a subtle, delicious bouquet.

Taste is wonderful, medium strength, just delicious. Chocolate, clean roasty notes, some herbal bitter to it I believe to be hops that matches the roast/coffee hand to glove, and vanilla and coconut as supporting flavors lead to a wonderful end of sip that is just bitter enough to turn this up to 11 in the taste department.

Thin in the mouth for style perhaps, but it sure lets the flavors shine, and this ends up to be really refreshing, with beautiful clean finish.

What a delicious porter, can't recommend it highly enough.

On tap at the Public House near Queechee Gorge.
Deep black in color with a thin tan head that persists.
Rich roasty beer with a huge chocolate presence. Light coconut thankfully. Really great desert beer.

Canned 1/27/20

Dark brown, not-quite-black, with 2.5 fingers of long-lasting head, that leaves 2 rings of lacing.

Smell is , as expected , chocolate, as in brownie batter, and lightly sweetened coconut.

Taste is roasty malt, light lightly-sweetened chocolate, slight cola, and some light coconut on the finish. Light, slightly drying bitterness on finish.

Feel is light-medium, with light carbonation tingle.

Very good porter . Normally , I would pass on one with such add-junks, but being my first crack at something from Fiddlehead, I gave it a try. I wasn't disappointed. :) The extras are done with a light touch, and compliment, rather than overshadow the base beer. Well-done!

Pours clear, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is big coconut, cocoa, and roasted malt. Medium-light bodied, sweet, roasty, with moderate carbonation. I really like how the coconut shines in here but I still really get porter flavor. Beer is nice and clean and never cloyingly sweet. I will pick this up again.

A: The beer is dark brown in color. It poured with a quarter finger high light beige head that has good retention properties and never completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted coconut are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has even stronger flavors of toasted coconuts along with underlying notes of vanilla and hints of chocolate.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: From the smell to taste, this beer is all about the aromas and flavors of toasted coconuts. There is just a touch of sweetness, but with all of the coconut, it could make for a good pairing with a dessert.
