22 ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled 7/19/16. Label says 6.2%, quite a drop from the original 8.5%.
Pours a bright, cloudy yellow, with a big, foamy, slowly dissipating head on each of three pours, good amount of foamy lacing. The smell brings Belgian yeast. the Hallertau hops, malt, a little funk and honey, some grapes, a hint of mint. Maybe an occasional whiff of peaches, maybe. The taste has the yeast out front, a little more malt than the nose, a light amount of peaches- less towards the end of the bottle, the Hallertau's remaining a solid presence. Also a little grape, a subtle honey sweetness, light hop bitterness throughout. Smooth, crisp, refreshing, well carbonated- maybe a little too much so.
A typically good effort from PW. but the peaches were a headliner, and they played a very minor role, almost a no- show. Good flavor and aroma, and the Hallertau hops were a solid addition, they add a lot. Certainly worth a try at a good price point, but leave your peach jones at the door.
