22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 9/26/16, had 10/16/16.
Pours a hazy, dark amber, with a quickly dissipating one inch head, some soapy lacing. Active carbonation. The smell starts with the blood orange- not something you get to say often, then pine, resin, some citrus- grapefruit, yeast, light malt, light toffee. The taste opens with the pine and resin, malt, caramel, some brown sugar, then the blood orange hits more toward the finish. Medium hop bitterness up front through midway, some sweetness on the finish. Smooth. a good, medium body, well carbonated.
This is an excellent Imperial Red Ale- and there's really not that many of those compared to other styles, well balanced between the hops and the malt. The blood orange is a great addition, prominent in the aroma and complimentary in the flavor. Will buy this again, if it comes around. Well worth a purchase.

Had on tap. Very dark amber red with a tan collar. Hops resin invites you into the smell immediately, great earth, toast, citrus yet more grapefruit than blood orange, caramel, botanicals, and a kiss of toffee. Taste starts somewhat complex with toast, earth and pine, then a shot of grapefruit and out of its shadow blood orange, with a herbal hop finish. Great definition in the feel by all elements, gives botanical elements to a style that often ignores them. Fun

Dark brown with tight frothy heady. Scent has a mixture of malty sweetness and citrusy hops. Taste is pretty similar though the earthy quality of the malt comes out more. I'll be honest, I don't taste the blood oranges much but that does not detract from the quality of the beer. Love me a good imperial red ale and this is a very good one.

Appearance: Pours clear and copper colored, with a sturdy head; nice retention and splashy lacing action
Smell: Resinous and herbal, with strong dried citrus peel and blood orange tones
Taste: Herbal and bitter from the outset to the finish, with the sour blood orange aspect dominant; juicy (true to the fruit base), but the finish is very dry
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: An interesting beer that highlights the blood orange - but i wouldn't drink it again as I don't much care for this fruit flavor

A pretty nice red DIPA. Pours deep amber with a light tan head. Nose is predominantly orange with hints of resin. Taste is a nice balance between the malts, hops and blood orange. Feel is pretty much spot on. Overall a nice beer, drinks easy. Worth a try.

Unbelievably smooth for an imperial IPA. Blood orange is perfect. Kind of let down by last 2 fish brews (Mandarin Dragonet and Scarlet Betta). This one I enjoyed so much more than those other 2. Hoping to see this one again.
