Pours a deep dark black color. Completely opaque, shiny, and somewhat lively. Thin, weak tan head collapses quickly. No residual head is left behind.
Aroma has notes of blackberry jam, roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, milk chocolate, lactose, and some light barley malt notes. The aroma is slanted heavily towards the blackberry jam aroma in a very pleasant way. The other notes are less potent, but just as noticeable when the aroma is taken in.
Taste follows the nose with strong blackberry notes. Sweet and jammy, but with the other stuff going on here, the sweetness is balanced out a bit. Roasted malts and barley cascade across the palate. Notes of cocoa and milk chocolate with some light earthy hops on the back end. The blackberry is slightly tart - exactly as you'd expect from the berries. Slight heat from this belies the ABV.
Feel is thick, sticky, and viscous. Surprisingly prickly carbonation tickles the tongue. Semi-dry finish on the back end.
Overall a really nice stout and a fine addition to the Jones Dog lineup. I hope this is a regular rotating offering.

16oz can, shared with my wife [who likes it]. Black pour - my imagination says it might have some deep purple hues (not smoke on the water); head is thin and tan. Sweeter aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, and blackberry, which really comes through as it warms. Flavors are sweet yet well balanced with notes of blackberry intertwined with rich dark chocolate, lactose, vanilla, and modest earthy hops. Full body, creamy and smooth, ample carbonation, finish is more sweet than bitter. Great utilization of the blackberry to balance with the stout - very good overall!

Released 9/27/19; drank 10/2/19 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice dark tan head; minimal lace.
Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Fresh earth & mild blackberry flavors up front; faint milk chocolate & booze heat notes on the finish.
Mild but enjoyable. I'd have another.

Shimmering black, no head. Blackberry puree dominates the nose, with fudge, vanilla cream and malts. Taste sees the blackberry being the juicy brightness that lifts the beer out of the dark chocolate fudge and vanilla body, clean and drinkable. Terrifying to realize this is 10.5%, it tastes like candy, feels velvet smooth and decently light yet viscous. The wife liked it

Pours dark brown (near black) with a large mocha head. Nice lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt, chocolate and blackberries. Flavor follows the nose, with the blackberries more prominent. Feel is thick and creamy, with light carbonation. Overall a berry nice dessert beer with it's high abv not discernable.
