Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a cloudy, orangish amber color. There was about no head on mine, nor any lacing. The aroma is good but a little light. Rye, malt and light fruit notes. The taste is good. Lighter rye, some fruit notes, possibly apricot and a touch of spiciness. A touch of bitterness also. A good beer.

LOOK: Copper colored beer with good clarity.

SMELL: Spicy rye, caramel, toast.

FLAVOR: In the taste, nice rye flavor a bit of spice and ample sweetness. Moderate leafy bitterness, finishes clean.

Overall, a nice rye beer reminds me of whiskey which I enjoy.

Has a hazy orange amber color. Low head. Just a ring of foam.

Sweet rye with pale ale maltiness and some fruity esters, reminiscent of apricot.

Syrupy malts, pale rye, toasty spiciness, and more faint fruitiness. Hints of clove.

Drinks with moderate speed. Carbonation gets some legs in the end.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours an orange amber color with a tiny fizzy white head. The head fades very fast, leaving only a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is light overall with a lighter rye bread smell mixed with some sweeter aromas of a caramel and light fruit nature. Along with these smells are just some hints of a doughy smell and a bit of an almost citrus smell.

Taste – The taste begins very sweet and malty with tons of caramel and a very bready flavor. Some hints on rye are mixed within, but these remain rather light throughout the taste getting just a bit stronger to the end and just adding a very subtle rye bite throughout the taste. The caramel flavors that are present upfront remain relatively strong, but do give way some to other sweet flavors of a fruit nature. The fruit is a blend of apple and pear with the latter being slightly stronger. Toward the end the bready flavor becomes slightly more doughy in nature, melding in a nice way with the sweet and light rye to leave a very malty and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For a brew of only 5.4 % the chewiness is really quite amazing and it really compliments the rye bread and malt flavors well making for a rather nice mouthfeel overall.

Overall – A rather malty and chewy brew for only 5.6 % with lots of sweetness. While it lacks a really nice rye flavor that I was looking for, it was still rather pleasant drinking making for a rather decent brew overall.
