Interesting funk and complex farmhouse. Honeysuckle there but brett runs the show. Thanks Jason B for something different. Lots of foam on yellow. Decent summer drinker.

Poured from a 375ml bottle a slightly hazy straw yellow under a two-inch thick white rocky head which leaves spots and splotches of lace. Aroma is Brett funk, brightly floral, spring time herbal and grassy. Taste is yeasty, slightly fruity with tropical notes. Finishes dry and yeasty. Overall, just somewhat bland.

Careful pour yields clear yellow ale with super huge head, abundant carbonation here. Head is like a pillow that eventually dwindles. Lacing left behind. Nose is Belgian yeast esters, lime being more prominent with other funk and spice backing it up. Taste mirrors the nose and leaves a very clean feel and bitter finish. Compares well with others in style.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, lime, orange peel, pineapple, pear, white grape, peppercorn, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy/earthy yeast, spices, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, orange peel, pineapple, pear, white grape, peppercorn, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery yeast spiciness and light tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, pineapple, pear, white grape, peppercorn, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy/earthy yeast, spices, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from carbonation and yeast spiciness as well. Medium-high carbnation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent spiced Brett Saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy/earthy yeast, spices, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing drink. A very enjoyable offering.

I never thought I'd say this about a beer, but I think they slightly overdid the funk in this beer. I love me a good funky beer, but I thought the funk here wasn't sufficiently balanced with other strong flavours and kind of overwhelmed the smell and flavour. That said, the beer was decent, just not exceptional.
