Poured from 0.5-liter(?) bottle into a champagne flute. Hazy dark yellow-orange, with an evanescent white head that left no lacing. Much better at near room temperature than cold. That's where the earthiness and hints of funk and citrus begin to come through. Slight medicinal notes on the nose and palate. Medium to light in body, with a dry finish and a lingering funky note. Overall, this would be a decent table beer. Not my first choice, however.

It’s pale golden in color, transparent, bubbling. The foam is rich, mixed with fine and coarse foam. The foam disappears quickly. It smells like Bret yeast, funky, mushroomy and oaky, it also shows ginger, white pepper spice smell. It tastes crispy, bitter leading, funky and spicy, very dry. It shows very peppery Bret yeast funky, but not barn and animal themed. The Bret yeasty is very clean, shows oak and mushroom corrupted wood, champagne cork, white pepper aromas. It bubbles in mouth, leaving a vivid tickling. The aftertaste is a bit smoky wood like. The beer is a light farmhouse ale, I like the rich oak aroma. And the funkiness is just the right amount, entertaining. I get some imagination of goat cheese and raining earthy mushroom forest. I like the clean take on a farmhouse ale.

Reviewed from notes. The bottle is a bit of an unusual shape, and I couldn't find a listing for volume on the label - I might guess 22 ounces? Regardless, I poured it out of the bottle into a Cigar City Brewing goblet.

A: Light gold to yellow, and a mild amount of haze. Forms a big, fluffy, three-finger white head with great retention and tons of visible carbonation. This is quite pretty.

S: Lightly musty, yeasty, and cracker malts. Some minerally character. Light black pepper, earthy, and some citric acid. Not a big aroma overall, but nice for what’s there.

T: Musty, earthy and yeasty with some fruity and savory esters. Light lemony citric tartness, black pepper, and minerally water profile. Cracker malts with mild accompanying sweetness. It finishes clean and dry with mild hop bitterness.

M: A light body, a good amount of carbonation sensation, and very low alcohol presence.

O: Decent, but ultimately a little bland. Still, the components are nicely balanced. I’d say it’s sessionable (and I guess it is) but I don’t think I’d often choose to session with it.

Pours an effervescent gold with a thumb of eggshell colored head. Hazes a bit as the bottle drains.

S: Grassy, grainy, pears & mango, once warm Above average lacing & head retention

T: Spicy yeast, white grape, grassy & green apple skin up front. Dryness, green apple & a little peppery yeast as this warms, a touch of lemon lime & mango as well. Finishes with mango, grassyness, dryness & grainyness

MF: Light body, firm carbonation

Nice drinkable Saison, a bit too pricey to drink on a regular basis though

this is a style i really love, and this is a pretty nice example of it, i dont get quite as much of the multigrain aspects as i like, this seems wheat and maybe oat driven with the barley, and maybe not as rustic and interesting there (i have thought the same thing about some of their others), but i really like the lightness here, and the yeast profile is amazing. its bretty and dry, lightly funky and new, with a bright belgian fruitiness running all the way through it, grape and grapefruit, there is some real citrus too, lemony hops even on the back end, not common in the style but it makes a ton of sense here. i love how delicate it all is, nicely integrated and not intense in any way aside from the carbonation, which really pops off. almost feels like a soda on my palate, but the flavors and texture together make this one of the better urban family beers i have had. some much cleaner and more well put together, not as loaded with sediment and not ready yet for consumption. i would like more grisette in the world in general, so i was stoked to see a notable brewery take it on. very pleased with this one, and more affordable than many of their others. great beer!

A beautifully traditional saison. Crazy can be fine, but sticking to style and giving me something I can expect – there is a lot to be said for that. 4.25

A – Pours a light straw yellow with fine lacing and a one finger head. Great carbonation as well. 4

S – Funk, slight citrus 4

T – Champagne like, light toast, herbal bitterness. 4

Delicately woven of the historic cloth of rural Belgian brewing, the farmhouse-style ale that's born from the Urban Family portfolio captures the dry, rustic, effervescent and spicy character that sets saison apart from all other ales of Belgium.

Bright straw and with a glowing translucent bulb, the beer's arid and honeycomb froth is long and voluminous, shedding a bright citrus, must and grain bouquet. Its taste supple with sweetness, a wafer-like bread sweetness embarks on the palate with faint honeysuckle and cereal.

As the middle unfolds, it's the fruits that strike first with its lemon, orange, pear, melon and apple esters only to be followed by a spicy roundness of coriander, orange peel, clove, peppercorn and cumin. That balance carries through a malt structure that dries wonderfully underneath and with a vinously tart finish of dry white wine and white pepper.

Light in body, the beer's wheaty texture falters graciously and allows the beer's drier, more acidic and spicier flavors to sound off loudly of saison. A trailing flavor of spice and dried fruit seems chardonnay-like with a delicate afterglow of weathered cork, hay and cellar-like must.
