500 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apple, melon, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apple, melon, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, apple, melon, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance. Moderate dryness from yeast spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a very nice table saison style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful and not watery feeling for the low ABV. Was hoping for some Brett character like most of their other saisons, but it doesn’t seem to be there. Still very well done with a standard saison yeast strain. A very enjoyable offering.

these always seem to be hotel room beers for me. they dont sell this stuff in colorado, but it seems like everywhere else i travel to has an abundance of it, and i rely on my road time to try this stuff. this one is a spelt saison in the session abv range and i would guess from the smell and taste that its partially wild. a fizzy straw blonde beer, light in appearance but bubbly and lively and all of that. straw colored, maybe golden in the darker rounder light, but a delicate looking beer no matter how its sliced. i think all of their wild beers (thats all they do right?) taste the same(ish). the cultures are similar, and they are all super young, with that juvenile brett profile and forced wildness. time will either vindicate these or banish them to somewhere ugly, its too early to tell, and as long as they keep looking all fancy on the shelf, i keep getting duped. these beers arent that good, and even though i absolute adore the spelt grain flavor in this and appreciate it so much, the defining element is still this immature dusty cereal thing thats common to all of their beer and not as wild, dry, or interesting as it should be. i keep buying these, but in a way they all taste the same. dig the spelt and that aspect of this is rad, its there all the way, but the beer overall is lackluster yet again from these guys. not sure how many more of these i am in for... if i taste this beer from a mates cellar in 5 years and its awesome, i will eat my words, but im not sure that day will ever come for these guys...

Color is a clear golden with a modest white foam poured in the Affligem chalice. Aroma of a gentle breeze across the meadow from the barnyard. Light and tangy mouthfeel. A little sharp with just a hint of malty flavor. They call this a "Spelt Farmhouse Ale" but I don't think spelt tastes like much of anything.
Crisp and lemony with a more subtle Saison yeast sort of flavor, but not yeasty tasting like so many of the style. Overall this is an extremely quaffable but lightweight Belgian-inspired brew. Plenty of flavor for the lower ABV. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
