L: Pours a hazy yellow orange color with a thick white tan head and very little lacing around the glass.

S: Notes of tart and sour white wine grapes, notes of bread and some peach, booze is quite a bit noticeable in this beer.

T: Notes of tart and sour white wine grapes, a bready malt underneath, some peach and the booze is once again quite noticeable.

F: Medium body, prickly carbonation

O: I really like what the white wine barrel adds to this saison.

My first brew from Elevation.

Ruby red with orange hues at the light. A smooth tan froth settles into a thick quilting. Booze and sour fruit flow forth prolific. Bread, booze, persimmon and peach in the aroma upon closer inspection. Tastes tart and spicy with a medium fruit core, fruit juice, wine, and sour dough. Slightly phenolic in the finish. Medium to heavy.

A few things right and a few things wrong, but not a bad start at all.

Pours a sunny orange-gold. One finger of head flops over to a persistent film.

Fantastic aroma, subtle notes of wine and oak, orange, pepper and spice

Flavor has nice spicey pepper note, hints of apricot and raisen. Not much of the wine and oak from the aroma, sadly just a hint in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel is moderate, appropo for the style. Seems like carbonation is a bit scant

Over all a damn fine farmhouse, pretty and smells heavenly. I'll buy this again if it is around when the weather gets hotter.

Look:
Very cloudy (naturally -for a saison of this style) and a dark golden color. A good frothy head comes out with a moderate pour. Great head retention and ample amounts of carbonation throughout.

Smell:
Musty and Dank smells waft up. Some sweet malt scent cuts through. There are also hints of fruit and wine.

Taste:
First up is a slight bitterness, then a strong tart fruitiness (this one sure drew out some Chardonnay from the barrels). The bitterness and sourness is offset by rich sweet malts. There are flavors of roasted nuts, wine, and charred oak. The sweetness fades eventually and the finish becomes dry and tart once again. This one has those authentic Belgian Farmhouse Ale grassy and herbal notes. Also, with a lot of Belgians, that tang you get that seems almost metallic.

Feel:
Medium mouthfeel with a slight dry pull at the end. Stays effervescent the entire time in the glass. Large amounts of bubbles that are quite tingly on the tongue.

Overall:
This one blew open like a bottle of champagne. There was a very large POP! when uncorked. I didn't have any beer leave the bottle though. This was very good. It was well balanced where it wasn't too sweet or sour. Maybe the barrel aging helped all of the flavors meld together. Would buy again.

750 ml bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours a hazy straw color, three finger head with an average pour, lots of foamy cling. Smell brings lots of Belgian yeast and white wine, light malt, some black pepper, little bit of funk. Taste follows the nose with the yeast, a little less wine but it's still substantial. Also malt, a little oak, lemon, a tartness overall. Very dry and refreshing, solid body, well carbonated.

Really liked this one. Lots of wine in the aroma and taste, but not overbearing. Strong saison base. Well worth a purchase.

9 Ju1 15
On-Tap 12oz. (The Ale House)
9.8% ABV

Pours a nice slightly cloudy golden amber color, with a nice one-finger creamy white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some nice banana note, coriander. The taste is malty, yeasty, with some nice banana/coriander notes. Medium body, the ABV is hidden very well. Overall a pretty tasty brew.
