12oz can poured into a Surly Teku.

A: Ruby red pour, clear body, fizzy white head that fades quickly; minimal lace.

S: Impressive notes of cherry pie; vanilla, cherry, graham cracker, fruit preserves, sweetness and tartness. Cinnamon and spice as well.

T: Desserty notes here as well, the vanilla and graham cracker pie crust notes are spot on and the cherry is both sweet and tart; very nice. Underlying spices and sweetness mesh well.

MF: Tart without being too drying, lighter body, a bit fizzy but the lactose fills out the body and gives the impression of layers within the beer.

O: The dessert notes on this are excellent; this isn’t a cherry ‘sour’ so much as a fruit beer. Cherry, vanilla, lactose, graham cracker, cinnamon...everything the can proclaims is actually here. Good stuff.

12 oz can at share. Pink pour, flat, small bubbly head. Aroma is straight up cherry pie, crust included. Taste is cherry pie filling, sweet, light pastry flavors. Got better with each sip.

this series has been awesome in my experience, and these guys seem to be using this yeast better than anyone right now, meaning its not always expressing itself the same in each of their beers. i am so glad to have them selling beer in boise now, they will do really well here i suspect, offering something not too many of our local guys are doing very well. this is ruby red in the glass from the tap with a lightly pink stained dense head an inch high, sparkling, pretty beer. aroma is sweet and tart cherries alike, a light honey sweetness and graham cracker sort of thing, light vanilla maybe, but very little of any pie spices i am familiar with, i expected cinnamon and clove and that kind of thing, but its subtle here, if at all. the flavor is similar, fruit first, sweet and tangy at the same time, fruity and fun, upbeat with all the carbonation, just a little bit sour, home honey and vanilla notes, not sugary to finish though, and very drinkable for what it is. i have been real up and down on this kveik yeast, but not with shades, they have all been awesome, i feel like this must e fermented with multiple yeasts, but im not sure. either way, this is delicious and festive and good!

12 oz can from Hinda65 into a Boiler THAT snifter.
Canned 1/15/20.

Pours a very rosy red cherry blush, with a creamy pink fingernail of head.

Aroma is really funky with some cherry juice, urine, peppercorns, slight cinnamon, slight graham, and lime juice.

Flavor brings tart cherry with lots of funk and vinegar-like acidity; some barnyard, some graham and vanilla trailing slightly. Slight key limes on the back end with some fruit punch.

Feel is light and refreshing with a nice bite and acidity, some dryness, some funk in the feel as well.

Overall this beer is pretty darn good. The dessert notes are not as loud as I'd like them to be, but the funk replaces it and turns it into something else that's likewise enjoyable. Something I'd definitely have again.
