September 26th, 2013 - How droll! Pop my Cherry is a cheekily named fruity beer, beginning with the pomegranate color of the liquid, and first hinting at the fruit inside in the aroma. There I find cherry and a slight fresh fruity tang, but the cherry note is mostly sweet and candied, like a cherry flavored Pop-Tart. Wet N' Wrekcless brands this as a pale ale, but it's doesn't exhibit that mild pale note, nor a pale ale crispness. Instead it effuses an off taste, transforming the cherry into a gnarly cough medicine flavor. An unpleasant taste for such a wry beer.

Brewer describes this as a pale ale infused with tart cherries. Pours an amber color in the glass with a decent carbonation on the tongue. Pleasant foam. Fruity and slightly tart. It's pleasingly malty, for the low ABV, with a touch of browned biscuit tang. Flavor of pear and a little cidery. Crisp and barely a hint of sweetness.
Some bitterness like plum skins and a touch of peach pits. Slight dirty hop flavor. I keep forgetting this is supposed to taste like cherries, but it doesn't much. A decent quaff, however, with an off-beat flavor. On tap at the brewery.
