An adaptation of our house four grain Saison, Ourison, which is brewed with barley, oats, wheat, and rye, and lightly hopped with US varietals. After primary fermentation in a large oak foudre with our Magickal Saison yeast, this beer was secondarily fermented on Marionberries while our house cultures worked their magic. Refermented in the bottle for natural carbonation.

Poured from a corked bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Cloudy burgundy pour. 1 finger of fizzy pink head lasts for a split second. No lacing. Sediment at the end of the pour.
S : Blackberry and funk. Oak and fruit.
T.F: Blackberry and lemon citrus. Strong oak and funk... apple cider vinegar, hay, and green fruit. Tart without being overly sour. Modest acidity. Jammy marionberry (basically blackberry) and earth. Light bodied... zesty carbonation. More berry and oak to finish.
O: Another outstanding riff on their Ourison. I think I liked the cherry a bit more but this was still quite solid. Light, drinkable, complex, and tasty.

Pours a ruddy, purple-brown color with two fingers of blue-tinted head that quickly settle into a wisp and crown. Very little lacing.
Creamy marionberries stand out in the nose, with some light wood and a light, yogurt-like sour twang. Smells like pie.
That creamy, lightly sour berry carries over to the taste, again with some light wood, and a modest burst of juice in the finish.
Soft, medium bodied feel with nice, lively carbonation.
Great use of fruit in this one — tempered by that sour, yogurty character. Love it.
