Another 64 oz. growler from Josh. Poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - More life than the Mysterious Mood. Yellow hazy body with a smallish white head.

Smell - A ton of simcoe. A hint of sweetness and not a whole lot else.

Taste - Strong simcoe flavor. Like a pale ale. A touch of bready malt and just enough yeastiness to justify the saison name.

Mouthfeel - Light with medium carbonation. Bitter finish, but nothing offensive or terribly off-style.

Overall - The saison is lost in the hops. Barely a saison and much more of a pale ale.

On tap at Tired Hands. Served glasses into stemware. Pours a slightly-hazy blonde-straw color with a fluffy white head and really nice retention. Good lacing and a cap throughout. The nose carries the unmistakable whiff of Simcoe hops with some nice pine alongside backing citrus. Light yeasty pepper and faint herbal character in the background. Flavor is similar, with the Simcoe out in front and the saison doing background work with a really excellent body. Dry and crisp. Excellent.

Reviewed from notes, this is a decent beer for sure. Beer is yellow and hazy with a soft white head of small and tiny bubbles, lacing, moderate to low carbonaiton.

Aroma is yesaty and sweet but not as hoppy as I was hoping.

Beer is floral and hoppy, grassy, with a mildly bitter finish, not a lot of hop bittering a decent beer though. I enjoyed it and would have it again.

On tap at Tired Hands. Pours a hazy straw color with a few fingers of white foam that settles slowly and good lacing clinging to the glass in sheets. Very aromatic, with bright simcoe hops jumping from the glass, imparting pine, herbal, and fruity citrus notes. Lesser hits of the saison yeast and attendant spiciness emerge underneath.

I found the flavor to be a good deal blander than the aroma. The bright hoppiness of the nose seems a bit dulled in the taste, and while there are still aspects of pine, herbs, grass, and citrus, they aren’t nearly as vivid as expected. They are also off set by a mild peppery yeastiness and a bit of pale, biscuity malt. The finish is dry and the aftertaste has a light bitterness that doesn’t hang around very long.

Medium light in body, with crisp but smooth carbonation. In general all the Tired Hands beers have a lovely feel fresh from the taps. This was an easy drinking saison that didn’t stand out among the wide array of iterations of the style these guys have been brewing. Lovely aromatics but the flavor didn’t deliver on the promise of the aroma for me.

Growler shared by Mr. PA himself, Dr. Moll. The beer is hazy and straw yellow with an inch of white head. The aroma offers dank hops, floral notes, tart citrus. Lemons and hops at the forefront, with nice grass and floral flavors. Pretty light bodied with moderate carbonation. A very tasty brew. I would definitely have this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
