draft at the brewpub

Eight ounce serving, the beer appears a fully hazed golden yellow in color, capped with a white head that retains well, leaving heavy lace. The nose and palate feature a blend of funky, brett laced saison with apple and citrus fruits interwoven with touches of the white wine, but none of the oak.. Grass and slightly peppery saison spice with a clean graininess. Lighter in body, crisply carbonated. Hay and flowers. Finishing dry and clean. A refreshing saison with a nice brett funk, the barrel adding a little weight.

on tap at the brewery

Pours a clouded straw color with a tuft of white head resting on top. Retains for a bit, leaving a collar of film around the glass with some spotty lacing.

A mix of funk and tart in the nose, accented by touches of peppery spice and flowers. Hints of grass and citrus peel, followed by grain and yeast.

Floral, spicy and funky right up front. Brett-driven flavors lurk throughout the profile, pairing with clove, yeast and tartness. Hints of oak come through with a soft white wine character. Lemon peel with grain, grass and flowers. Finishes tart and dry on the tongue.

Lighter medium body, well carbonated, smooth and crisp on the tongue. Another nice barrel-fermented saison, although I think I preferred Mysterious Mood to this one.

On tap at Tired Hands.

Pours a pale, lightly hazed gold with a few fingers of creamy white head that settles down slowly. Good lacing sticks to the glass. Nose is yeasty, with prominent citrus, floral, and grassy notes, and a good deal of oak barrel character coming through; lightly funky brett notes emerge, but really come to the fore in the taste. The flavor is complex; balancing bright lemony citrus; oaky chardonnay, and a somewhat tannic note; musty hay-like brett; peppery spice; flowers and fresh cut grass. Tart and clean drinking.

Medium-light bodied with ample, crisp carbonation but the smooth and somewhat creamy mouthfeel common to all the Tired Hands beers. Very well done, extremely tasty and drinkable; one of my favorite saisons Jean and company have whipped up to date.

Draft offering at Tired Hands. Served in a shaped pint glass. The brew appears a clouded pale yellow rich with wheat haze. A white head sits atop about a finger strong and leaves patchy lace clinging to the glass.

The aroma is mildly vinous with an accenting fruity and floral character that integrates well with the mild vinous and tangy aspects. As it warms up, the expected spicy clove notes from the yeast becomes evident along with indications of grass and earth. There is some sulfur across the backend.

The taste includes notes of fruit mildly like pear or apple that integrate with a mild vinous aspect just like the nose hints towards. There is a spice of clove and solid wheat inclusion. It displays a fairly clean aftertaste with a mild grasss and sulfur inclusion.

This is a medium bodied brew with a light amount of carbonation. It displays a warming alcohol inclusion and overall nice barrel nuance. Overall it was a decent brew and worth giving a try.
