On-tap at the brewpub

A pale orange body, cloudy, with a firm ecru colored cap. Good staying power with some sheeting action.

Floral, herbal, and spicy. Juicy lemons with a burst of rosemary, sage, and lavender. The lavender is more prominent than I expected, and adds a bit of a sweetness to the aroma.

The flavor profile follows the nose. Rosemary and sage up front before a touch of sour lemons and floral lavender notes in the finish. All of these ingredients are on top of a classic TH saison base. Clean malt, light tropical fruit hoppyness. The finish is dry and floral with a touch of sour lemon. An interesting balance between the lemons and the herbs.

Smooth, creamy feel. Medium body with perfect carbonation.

This is an easy drinking, extremely flavorful saison. Love the mix of fresh ingredients. An interesting blend that really complement and balance each other well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Served on-tap at the Brewpub a month or so ago, just getting around to adding this now.

A - Pours golden orange with a small half finger tall white head leaving spotty trails of lace down the glass.

S - Smells of bready grain, lemon zest, fresh herbs and some light spice. The lavender comes through more as it sits in the glass. Fairly well balanced for the duration.

T- Taste fallows the nose. The herbs and lemon twang start things off slowly giving way to hints of chewy grain, lavender, dash of hop bitterness and some light spice. Finish is pretty clean actually, only a touch of breadiness that doesn't linger for more than a brief moment.

M - Light body with moderate carbonation. Fresh, light feel from start to finish.

O - Another nice saison from Tired Hands. The flavors are pretty well integrated and it remains easy to consume. Glad I got to try this one.

 

Draft offering from the source. The brew appears a clouded light orange color with a finger of off-white froth. Some patchy soap of lace leaves some fingers sticking to the glass as the cap fades.

The aroma includes notes of sweet floral aspects im assuming to be the lavender contrasted by fruity note like pear. Overall, this is mild and enjoyable smelling brew without much yeast impact.

The flavor is very herbal like tyme instead of the listed sage/rosemary combination but im not herb expert. A little grassy and floral with an herbal bitteness that comes into play with an earthen feel. The yeast lasts into the aftertaste with the herbal addition being a bit too bold and distracting and dominating.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. I appreciate the direction they were going with this but the herb additions were a total distraction to the base beer instead of a compliment. I suppose if paired up with the appropriate dish, this would be possibly a memorable or winning brew but to drink it on its own was a bit of a chore.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Cloudy orange coloured body.Lacey. Peppery, very sage, rosemary. Lemon rind sourish and also malted and honeyish in the finish. Soft carbonation (a characteristic of their beers in general), more than a sipper. Strange yet drinkable,.

 

 

On tap at Tired Hands. A bit of a tasty oddball; an interesting combination of flavors and a novelty; but one glass is probably enough. Like most of the TH beers the look and feel are outstanding; the body is cloudy but shimmering orange; a big cap of white foam sits on top and takes its time settling down. Lots of lace clinging to the glass.

A wild aroma; plenty of lemon; fruity, yeasty esters; floral and perfumy notes of lavender and hops; flavor reveals even more; light sweetness; spice; lemon, lavender, sage, other herbal/botanical notes; citrus and floral aspects. Lots going on; my wife thought it smelled (and tasted) a bit like something from the Body Shop and there’s some truth to that, but thankfully it’s a bit tastier than a fragrant hand soap. Mildly tart, dry finish with some lingering pepper, herbs, and lavender hanging around.

Medium-light body, medium carbonation, smooth feel as expected from these guys. A fairly successful experimental one-off; this one is likely to appeal to some and alienate others, but I can’t imagine it will be back soon (if ever) once it kicks.
