Want to try this again as I'm not sure this specific style is for me.
UPDATE: Having this again after some time and it's a much better experience, very crisp finish I like this a lot more now.

June 8, 2020 canning. Opened 7.5.20
L - 4.25 - has that unfiltered Belgian/French grisette opaqueness look to it, good head, decent lacing as the glass drains.
S - 4 - Lemony white grapefruit yeast, galore. Dry herb oak scent too, really interesting.
T - 4 - Delivers in spades on the Grisette expected taste profile of dry, chalky light lemons, but some added oomph. At 6.1% this is not a light example of any Grisette. It's metal, yo.
F - 3.75 - Good, crisp feel, yet the taste falls off the cliff on the palate after a few seconds. Super drying, like most TRVE beers, but I dig it. Just hoped for a bit more after-taste.
O - 4 - A great spin on the traditional Grisette, done with attitude. Awesome. I'll be seeking this out more often.

From the ashes of obscurity, the seldom seen Grisette makes an appearance in the TRVE brewery. In true farmhouse style, a sense of rusticity, yet refinement gives the session a masterful and time honored taste.
Pale straw and cast in a soft and yeasty haze, a cottony white froth builds upon the rim. Gentle wafts of white pepper, citrus, fresh dough and white wine decorate the nose just ahead of a soft and wheaten sweetness of fresh bread, powdered sugar and honeysuckle pave the way for the early palate.
As the beer washes the middle palate, its taste turns to the citrusy character of lemon and pear with hints of white grapefruit stepping in later. White pepper, light clove, nutmeg and vinous spice balances the fruit while a gentle hop addition adds a bitterness of lemongrass, hay balsa. A faint must of wine soaked woods provide a light pungency for complexity and intrigue.
Medium light in body, its the beer’s strong wheat base that keeps the beer form complete tartness or dryness. With the cleaner flavors of Saison but the body of Biere de Garde, the Grisette is a beer that’s prime for popularity. …that’s if they are built like this.

Had this at the source during our trip to Denver in May 2019.
Gives that kinda hazy, glow like yellow appearance with 1/3" white head. Aroma went all in on the belgian yeast. Sorachi hops maybe as well? Learning that I prefer my grisettes to have a more neutral yeast presence compared with strong belgo phenolic spice rack ones.
Taste does push a gritty grain vibe with some lemon smack to it. The yeast isn't so I dunno, strong here. The mouth feel gets a high degree of carbonation. Clove hints. Pepper hints. Bitterness higher than average per style. One thing this does good is that there is such a heavy grain presence, but the beer feels light as air practically, and then manifests a dry finish that I just didn't see coming.
Its a far more complex grissete than most. I probably would have liked this beer more if I never smelled it.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a narrow collar of white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of herbal hops and Belgian yeast are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of Belgian yeast along with notes of spiciness and hints of floral hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought this taste of this beer was its best quality as it had prominent but balanced flavors of yeast and hops.
Serving type: can

16oz can. 11/5/18 can date. Appearance: Hazy bright yellow with a thickly foamy white foam head that lingers with nice lacing.
Aroma: Lemon zest, grass, hay, and peppercorn. Very pleasant
Taste: Medium malt sweetness highlighted by wheat, light citrus, some pepper, and a grassy, strawlike finiah on the swallow with a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied for the style with a brisk carbonation.
Finish: wheat and grass longer over a tart citrus bitterness.
Overall: Really nice grisette that allow the yeast to shine. Wonderful aroma showcases that yeast, with layers of lemon zest, pepper, grass and hay. Light and refreshing, but maybe a touch heavier bodied than other versions of the style

Large, big-bubbled head. Rocky recession but it comes quickly. The liquid is lemony yellow with a white hue from the extensive cloudiness.
Initially a pale malt start but soon the farmhouse aromas take over--a bit yeasty.
True to style, the body is thin and the carbonation high. The taste is biting with equal measures from the yeast and mild hop. The malt is a steady flavor throughout but it's in the background. Short barnyard aftertaste.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a big, frothy white head. Aroma is lemon heavy,a healthy dose of cracker, a little clove and herbal. Flavor follows suit. Mouthful is thin, active, and dry. Overall, this one is right up my alley and has probably become my favorite thing I have tried from TRVE. Sessionable, flavorful, just straight great.

Canned May 14th, 2018 - poured from a tall-boy into a shaped pint glass.
Hazy Stil de grain yellow liquid with a full fist of rocky pearling off-white foam - the crown recedes slowly leaving gaping caverns of soft-peaks behind; sticky tendrils of lacing; good retention.
Yeast character dominates the nose with hints of citrus and sweet and funky cheese notes. Floral elements emerge and expand as the ale warms.
Crisp, grain forward (but not husky) palate entry - earthy/herbal noble hop notes, moderately bitter with hints of lemon zest into the dry, mineral-laden, faintly spicy (cloves, pepper) finish.
Medium-light bodied mouth-feel with perhaps a bit more alcohol than the style (grisette) calls for, but still well concealed.

Soft, hazy yellow body crowned with a thick, rocky, creamy head. Mild lemony aroma; citrus. Tart, punchy flavor; undertones of lemon rind and light cereal grain base; fairly bitter. Medium body with a light sourness; dry overall.
This beer delivers some nice dry, tart, and wheat-like qualities. Even at 6.1% ABV, it makes for a fine hot weather sipper.

Light sourness for this cloudy interpretation of an older style. Decent head retention, pleasant aroma faintly reminiscent of gym socks that have been aired out a bit. Higher ABV than I expected (6.1%), but you don’t taste it.
