Sour saison aged in white wine barrels. Brewer's Notes: pours straw in color; aromas of lemon, white grape, and hints of green tea; sips with tart notes of vanilla, pineapple, pear, and a funky vinous character; finishes dry, oaky, and pleasantly acidic.

Bottle extra'd to.me in a trade at some point in the not too distant past. Tonight is cellar.cleaning night so opened this with low expectations...to.my.surprise, this one is pretty good. Nice golden ale crossed with a raid on type of thing going on with excellent compliments of white wine presumably from the barrels. Not the kind of thing I'd chase down, but certainly a worthwhile drink if you come across a bottle or see one at a mega share. Excellent green grape thing throughout. I just might drink this full bottle all to myself.

Golden body with a slight hint of haze. Aroma is funky oak and white grapes. Flavor matches, with funky oak up front, then a big wave of white grapes and white wine. Feel is somewhat fizzy, slightly tart and a bit sticky. Pretty decent sour.

Poured from 750 ml bottle dated August 2016 into snifter.
A: Slightly hazy pale yellow with one finger frothy white head that settles quickly to a thin ring around the edge. Little to no lacing.
S: Lemons, white grapes, and an earthy component that reminds me of tea leaves.
T: Tart lemons, white grapes, and some subtle fruity notes with pear and apricot. A little oak hanging around in the back.
M: Medium body with fairly light carbonation. Finish is dry and crisp with some lingering acidity.
O: Very nice and refreshing beer. Just the right amount of tartness and the wine from the barrel is readily apparent. I would have liked to have seen more saison funk coming through but otherwise very well done.
