Nite Heavy is a gold, bold, pure American lager. Pours honey gold with a pillowy white head. Aromas of cereal and lemon citrus. It sips smooth and refreshing, with notes of barley malt and honey. Light-bodied with a crisp carbonation that rolls off the tongue.

This is our best version of a classic style, and we hope it raises the flavor standard for everyone who tries it. To better beers, and better nites.

From a 12oz can dated 10/2/20 into a pint glass.

Pours a translucent pale golden yellow with about one finger of white head that dissipates quickly into a thin ring and cap over the beer.

Smells strongly of sweet grains (mainly corn) and breadiness. Quite inviting on the nose.

Was expecting a little more in the taste department based on the nose. Mild corn and grains with a bit of bread thrown in.

Has a smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Very nice for a lager and very drinkable. Low to medium carbonation. Slight grainy aftertaste.

Overall, this is a nice beer and very drinkable. Taste seemed to be lacking a bit. Would like to try fresher or on tap to see if there's a difference in taste.

Canned 3/19/20, probably right at the end of the shelf life for this guy

For all the different Night Shift beers I've tried, they will soon be my most reviewed brewery on this site, second only to DFH. Thus, I always grab beers I haven't had from them, despite the less than ideal freshness

Pours a clear golden yellow with just a finger of white head that reduces to a ring quickly and leaves no lacing

A surprising fruitiness in the nose, with hints of lemon, lime, and orange sitting atop a sweet doughy malt that brings notes of honey along with mild grassy, floral hops

Sadly, everything great about the aroma is muted flavor-wise, but is still not bad. On the front end the honey and grain work together to balance the mild hops. After the swallow, most of the flavors continue through, but hints of lime creep up to cut the the sweetness

A light body combines with moderate tingling carbonation to create a refreshing lager that finishes crisp and coats the mouth

This is pretty good stuff. I assume at peak freshness it would be better, so I'd be down to try this again

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving a small patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of malts are present in the nose along with hints of floral hops.
T: The taste follows the smell and is mostly dominated by flavors of cracker and cereal malts along and faint bits of honey. The hops mostly serve to add a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is about as classic as you can get for a lager. I especially liked the clean mouthfeel and the nice dose of malts in the taste, which was perfectly balanced out with a comparable amount of bitterness.

Pounded 10 of these bad boys from the can. Not the toilet, I mean the beer was in... Shut up

The aroma is nice. Lots of pilsner malt and grains with some piney hops. Sweet but balanced.

Tastes like a nice American lager. Bready malts and grain with some modest hoppiness and a touch of citrus.

Light bodied with good carbonation. Crisp and dry and crushable as hell.

Really like this one. It isn't meant to be the most flavorful or hoppy or complex beer. It's a 5% American lager meant to be enjoyed with friends at a campfire that I was molested at.

Consumed 6/20/20

Pale golden yellow, crystal clear, medium white head retains a nearly solid cap with a medium collar
Lightly bready, lightly grainy, pale malt, touch of malt sweetness, touch of corn sweetness, vague hint of grassy hops, light touch of lemon-like acidity, low bitterness, clean overall
Light body (but heavier than Nite Lite, duh), crisp, medium carbonation

Nite Heavy represents my 1,400th review on BA. To me, Nite Heavy will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first beer I had after returning home from the hospital with my newborn daughter. Nite Heavy is a dad beer. Perhaps a millennial dad beer. Ultimately it's not an extreme upgrade over one of the better macros (e.g., PBR), but it is well-made, well-rounded, and from an independent craft brewer. Drink it.

Night Shift brewed up a surprisingly tasty American lager with Nite Heavy. Poured with a one inch head which dissipated quickly. Clean amber yellow to the eye. Pleasant pilsner smell and after taste. Hoping this will appear regularly in stores. An instant favorite!

Honestly, a really good American lager. These are so crisp when they are ice cold. It’s everything I’m looking for in a lager. Cold, crisp, and refreshing. Very smooth taste and great mix of Pilsner malt and possibly a little aciduated malt for a nice zing. Will drink regularly!
