huge thanks to AdamP for trading this beer!
750ml C&C bottle. Big loud pop as cork is pulled out of the bottle. bottled on 04/22/2013.
8oz pour into cascade barrelhouse tulip/snifter hybrid glass.
Appearance: yellow bodied beer with 1 finger of white head. head drops down to no head at all almost looks still.
Smell: big sweet pineapple and tropical fruit notes! Light brett earthiness and hint of oak.
Taste: Just like the nose the pineapples are huge and unmistakeable. Lots of tropical fruits. Light wheat malts and a splash of oak. Just a quick moment where you get a red wine influence at the middle of the beer and also a generic sweet booziness in the middle of the beer as well(I am guess that is the brandy barrel, but its hard to distinguish). Lingering Pineapple sweetness and a touch of spicy booze in the finish. Unique beer for sure!
Mouthfeel: low end of a medium bodied beer. low carbonation levels. i could use a little more carbonation in this beer. Fairly smooth and slightly syrupy. Drinks at a level lower than the listed 8% abv.
Overall: Really interesting beer by Nightshift! Pineapples and brett. Yeah absolutely a great combo. Breweries need to be more inventive like this! I would not mind seeing more brews with pineapples and brett. Night shift could have a stronger brett presence in this beer to make it a really serious beer. Kudos to Nightshift. Really like what they got happening at Nightshift! Inventive beers. Way to represent the East Coast Nightshift! This is the 3rd beer I have tried from Nightshift and they are killing it!

Number Two in the Barrel Society.
In a tulip the beer was a hazy light gold color. There was a thin white head which disappeared quickly.
Sweet, fruity aroma. Funk and earthy hops.
Pineapple taste up front, followed by the funk. Some oak late.
Nice mouthfeel, both sweet and sour. A good effort.
