Price: $24.00 for a 4-pack
From: Monkish Brewing Company in Torrance, Calif.

Misc.: Canned on Nov. 23, 2021 at 2:02 p.m. PT; Split 4-pack with Sonny
Stopped by Monkish on the way up to my in-laws for Thanksgiving to pick up three 4-packs. This one was described as “Beyond Atomically is a Triple Dry-Hopped DIPA, extremely saturated with Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra hops.”
Poured a medium golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled Mosaic, pulpy orange juice, peach, mango, stone fruit, pineapple, Galaxy, passion fruit, grapefruit, Citra, grass and hints of bubblegum. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Got Mosaic, Galaxy, orange juice, peach, stone fruit, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit, Citra, grass and hints of bubblegum. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Pretty good overall, but I think I overrated it slightly. (Overall - 4.25)

Pours an opaque, almost mulky dark sunflower-gold body capped with two fingers of fluffy, rocky, white foam; solid head retention leaves a paper-thin veil of cap, a thin, creamy collar, and dots of webby lacing spattered in haphazard layers along the walls of the glass.
Aroma brings underripe pineapple into slightly sweeter, more developed papaya prior to a lemon zest twang over the mid-palate softened by danker hints of white grape and a fading citrus zest emphasizing mandarin and tangerine on the close.
Taste opens with hints of dank lemon, mango, and a twangier grapefruit peel undercurrent, leading to musty passionfruit and tinges of white grape must over the mid-palate along with grassy hop textures and a flaky malt lingering on the finish.
Mouthfeel shows a medium body with a subdued, fluffy carbonation in the backdrop and creamy, almost resinous textures phasing over the mid-palate and back end alongside waves of earthy bittering, balanced by a delicate twang and a taut, semi-juicy finish.
Monkish provides their usual amalgam of hop textures to this NEIPA, though the triple dry-hopping proves too aggressive and uncomplimentary, betraying any sense of nuance or cohesion to an already diverse profile; some largely positive elements struggle to integrate cleanly with one another.

From tasting notes 03/10/20
Had on-tap at Monkish Brewing in Torrance, CA
Appearance - Poured into a tallish snifter/tulip hybrid, hazy and light orange in color with a mostly barren surface. A few patches and spots make up a minimal lacing.
Smell - Juicy, tropical aroma. Mango, pineapple, white grapefruit and a hint of melon.
Taste - Follows the nose. Juicy and tropical upfront, with mango, pineapple, orange and some grapefruit. Melon creeps in mid-taste. Finish turns slightly bitter, with grapefruit pith leaving an impression on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - Near full in body with fair carbonation. Super creamy and smooth, then a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Its really nice, as most all Monkish hazies are, but I prefer Bomb Atomically.

Sweet, tropical hoppy, zesty citrus, and hint of dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a juicy and dank-hoppy, orange citrus finish! Beautiful! This has fantastic depth to it and feels pillowy soft on the palate! This is great!

Can dated 12/19 poured into a tulip glass. A bright yellow gold color with a small white head that left rather quickly. Very hazy and bright like OJ. Big tropical aroma. Tons of pineapple, guava, citrus, berries, and some resin. Thankfully, the taste lived up to the smell. All of the above fruity notes were there. Citrus emerged on the mid to late palate as the dominant flavor, but this beer was complex. A moderate soft bitterness and a very soft feel. Overall, I'd agree that this is world-class.

S: Mango. Pineapple. Papaya. Bright juicy oranges. Slight stonefruit. Grapefruit pith. Dank nugs. Resin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
T: Grapefruit. Dole pineapple cocktail water. Mango. Pine. OG Kush. Slight sherbet-y sweetness. Dry finish.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
M: Medium-bodied. Soft. Sharp but gentle carbonation. Slight initial creaminess. Negligible heat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
O: One of my ongoing personal endeavors over the past year was to try and understand the Northeast/New England IPA fad a little better in hopes to be completely done with it by the time I move back to the states, but this beer has given me a newfound appreciation for the genre altogether. Whereas with other examples I've tried, the hops flavors either seemed to be laid on too thick and too much for my palate to handle; or just all over the place, with all the undesirables laid out like dirty laundry alongside all the flavors the brewer hoped to magnify, Beyond Atomically pushes and highlights every possible delight-inducing flavor enshrined within the magical oils of Mosaic, Galaxy, and Citra beyond the envelope yet still somehow manages to keep all the flavors in line with that tiny hint of sherbet-like sweetness in the middle. It's hard to explain, but it feels like discovering a new variety of juice that's made from 110% all natural ingredients--it feels more real than all-real, more NEIPA than any NEIPA I've ever tried. Monkish hit all the right notes and then decided to hit some left notes for shits and gigs with this one. Killer bees, Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses don't got shit on this beer.
