Mockeries is a double dry0-hopped triple IPA. We took Socrates hypotheses and Philosophies and doubled the amount of Mosaic, Galaxy, and Citra hops.

Canned on 7/28/22; consumed on 8/28/22
Pours a turbid, glossy mango-gold body topped with a finger and a half of rich, white foam; solid head retention leaves a thin layer of cap, moderately sized, frothy collar, and modest spread of webby/spotty lacing dotting the walls of the glass.
Aroma shows a lime zest zing contrasting a heartier candied jackfruit upfront, leaving juicy grapefruit meandering into a sweet, bready malt undertone as notes of blood orange compote builds over time.
Taste brings a waxy dank into pineapple fusel upfront, steadily overtaken by overripe peach and a musty grassiness through the mid-palate; grapefruit rind leads into tropical papaya and soft mango resins easing through the finish.
Mouthfeel presents a medium body and moderate carbonation, leaving slick resins setting the foundation for a juicy peak over the mid-palate as pseudo-bitterness lingers through semi-dryness and a distant, delayed stickiness on the finish.
Layered and weighty, with zesty citrus cutting taut boggy undertones as the encroaching overripeness of tropical subtext trends too sweet; a touch too busy to allow the more detailed, resinous profile to properly shine.

Sweet pineapple, tropical hoppy, sweet orange citrus, and pungent dank nose on this one! Wowza! Taste follows with a smooth, orange/grapefruit citrus bitterness and piney dankness throughout the finish. This is just so well-balanced and hides the big ABV on the backend...a hint of booziness starts to play peek-a-boo with the palate as it warms. This has outstanding depth and a very soft mouthfeel. This is great!!!

I was very interested in trying this after falling in love with Socrates Philosophies & Hypotheses.
It pours a hazy golden yellow, with a thin lace that outlines the ebbs and flows of this beer all around the glass.
The nose is big, sweet, and tropical. Not too much bitterness, and the hop presence on the nose is simply an afterthought.
Overall, this is the most bitter, potent TIPA that I’ve had from Monkish to date. Notes of grass and earth balance a subtle but present flavor of tropical fruits and citrus.
The body retains a good level of sharp carbonation with just enough creaminess and juice to pull it off. Not my favorite from Monkish, but there’s no doubt it’s damn tasty. Not to mention extremely crushable for 10.3% ABV.
