This beer has classic Belgian notes of clove and bubblegum with a balance of hops and esters to make a dry, refreshing finish!

It took me a while to figure out what this beer was so I could add it to the catalog. I am using a tulip glass to serve the beer at 46 degrees. The pour created a frothy, airy, creamy, two-fingered, white head with exceptional head retention. The slow dissipation left chunks of lacing on the glass. The color is pale straw with a lovely light golden hue, clear, and charts at SRM 2. The appearance of this beer is stellar.
Nosing the glass, I detect bubblegum, light resin, floral esters, herbal notes, cloves, white pepper, lightly toasted malts, biscuits, and a hint of funky barnyard.
Sipping the glass, it is evident the beer has more hops than the typical saison. I taste cloves, bubble gum, white pepper, a floral bouquet, pine resin, herbal notes, light lemon, a hint of barnyard, toasted malts, and biscuits.
The mouthfeel is slightly astringent, finishing crisp and dry. The body is light and has high carbonation.
Final Thought: My palate is doing a double take. I thought I was getting a saison with the light hop punch; however, the hops were a bit more pronounced. I'm not sure if I enjoy this style of beer, as the hop punch is a bit more intense than usual. I enjoyed the base beer, which had a light funkiness. The more I enjoy Saison, the more it is becoming a favorite style.
