This batch of Double Shot was crafted to integrate seamlessly with a remarkable and complex coffee - Colombia El Jordan! Given the rich, syrupy nature of the coffee, we brewed a base beer with similar attributes to create a uniquely decadent batch! El Jordan pours thick in the glass, emanating layers of flavors and aromas, including milk chocolate, cocoa, honeycomb, and even a hint of raspberry. It is singularly rich, the perfect accompaniment to a big plate of barbecue on a cool spring evening. It is, in our opinion, an example of what is possible with careful selection of ingredients paired with focused brewing execution. Please keep cold and enjoy FRESH!

Grabbed a growler at the brewery. Shared with JLindros.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a good one finger mocha head that fades to leave creamy lacing and blanket.
S - Aromas of bakers chocolate, roast malts, nice coffee notes, good rich coffee grounds. Very fragrant.
T - Taste is similar to the nose very solid chocolate notes. The coffee is nice and fresh with solid sweet coffee ground notes. Really pleasant almost vanilla like notes. Very tasty.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, smooth and creamy, nicely silky with great feel.
O - Overall this is a very solid porter. Excellent coffee qualities. Really nice.

One of the better Double Shot variants, black, thick, rich coffee and chocolate on the nose and palate. Fluffy and dense mocha head, and smooth full mouth feel. Fabulous even after a couple months!

One of the more milk chocolate-forward Double Shot variants in recent memory. The base beer is thick, extremely rich, and syrupy without being too sticky or sweet. The coffee addition provides a bit of bitterness and a subtle roast to balance while offering some interesting notes of dark fruit and cocoa powder. Overall, think about the adding one of those raspberry jam-infused milk chocolate batters to the best latte you've ever had, letting it melt into the liquid, and then sipping on that.

Growler filled 4/6/17.
Reviewed 4/13/17.
Poured into Tree House snifter.
A: Dark brown on the pour, a little light getting through. In the glass, it's gone black, no light getting through, no ruby bleed around the edges. A finger of mocha-brown head made up of tiny bubbles.
S: Buckets of roasted coffee up front, milk/bakers chocolate, and cacao. Roasted malts present but not overpowering.
T: Taste follows the nose, lots of low to medium bitterness roasted coffee, bakers chocolate, small amount of vanilla, and a balanced amount of roasted malts. The tasting notes on this say there is a hint of raspberry which I found to be very subtly placed, but I may not have noticed if I wasn't looking out for it. What makes the taste a 5/5 is that this is incredibly balanced and has awesome, complex flavor.
F: This was thick and creamy. I have found other variants of Double Shot to have slightly thinner bodies, but this one was beefed up. Thankfully it was not sludgy, but their description of it being syrupy is pretty accurate. Silky smooth like other variants and medium carbonation.
O: I don't think you can do much better for a non-barrel-aged stout. Best in its class. I had not planned on getting this batch with talks of how long the lines were and growler cards getting capped early, but I ended up trading for it and I'm very glad I did. I have thoroughly enjoyed past variants, especially Montes de Oro, but this takes the cake and makes no apologies.
