Single Shot is our rich and beautifully balanced coffee stout made this time with a classic coffee - Sumatra Mandheling! It pours a dense black color the glass unleashing a fluffy, mocha-like head. We experience flavors and aromas of milk chocolate, syrupy coffee, and roasted caramel. Single Shot - Sumatra Mandheling is rich on the palate while maintaining a airiness that leaves you wanting more… Sumatra Mandehling coffee has historically produced some of our favorite Double Shot batches, and this representation is no exception - a true treat in the can helping us bridge the gap between this long cool season and warmer weather.

This blend was absolutely stellar. Love the Sumatra coffee blend in this. Really pops in the aroma and comes through nicely on the palate. Coffee stouts are my jam and this one is fantastic.

L - dark paint-like brown with an almost cherry-hued burnt wood head.

S - nutty milk sugar. Walnuts and chestnuts. Chocolate cake with those little chocolate chips. Roasted almonds.

T - toasty coffee beans give it a vaguely sour bitter bite before the bittersweet Baker's chocolate comes pouring in. It's rich, but at the same time restrained to increase drinkability. Has a fresh herbal character like the ground these beans were picked from (coffee doesn't grow on trees, right?). Bold roast drizzled with chocolate syrup. Cooling and drying on the finish.

F - medium feel with signature Tree House life coming from the creeping carbonation that rises from the depths like water boiling from the bottom up.

O - more biting and aggressive than OG Single Shot. Despite its milk stout categorization, SS has always had a bit of a black coffee bite, but this SM variant kicks it up a notch or two. Crisp and oddly refreshing, this is a good Sunday morning coffee substitute.

One of the best beers I've had from TH (or anyone) to date. This beer is extremely dark w/ no light getting through with a thick brown head. The smell is a sweet creamy coffee w/ notes of chocolate and caramel. The taste is incredible. Coffee is the dominate flavor here but there is heavy caramel, roasted grains, minimal to no smoke. The bitter from the coffee balances the sweet perfectly. The mouthfeel is perfect for this beer. This beer is a must have for anyone that is a fan of coffee stouts. Well worth actively seeking out.
