Curiosity Seventy Four finds us returning to the heavily-oated approach that we utilized for much of the Sixties, this time featuring Citra and Amarillo in the hop bill. This combination has resulted in many of our favorite beers to date, and this time is no different! Coupled with the oats and a carefully stressed fermentation profile, a bounty of tropical esters pair beautiful with the citrusy onslaught from the hops. We smell and taste pulpy orange juice, ripe apricot, loquat, dank hop oils, and red grapefruit. Though packed with flavor, it is still approachable and delicious all the way through the glass. Enjoy it cool and straight from the can!

16 oz. can. Hazy orange body. Smells of orange, sweet pale malt, booze, a little bit of mango and passion fruit. Tastes of orange, zesty lime and other acidic fruits. Cuts down on a hefty dose of sweetness. Back end falls apart a little. No bitterness, a touch of earthy yeast flavors in the finish, and the citra hops leave a little bit of funkiness. But that's me being picky. Still a very good, if big, DIPA.

16oz can, Tree House snifter glads. Pours a cloudy golden yellow body. One finger and a half white head. Solid retention, a bit of lacing also. Smell is tropical fruit, caramel, touch of sugar, leafy resin, herbal. Flavour follows. Smooth resin, herbal spice and tropical fruit. Light caramel, sugar and a bit of barley. Medium bodied, good carbonation, soft and creamy feel. Solid and tasty hoppy goodness.

poured from a 16oz can into a willi becher pint glass. pours a milky, murky orange with frothy white head. very citrusy and tropical on the nose and the taste. a little bit of bitterness and alcohol burn on the finish to remind you it is an Imperial IPA. mouthfeel is incredibly soft and incredibly full. TH seems to have the mouthfeel down, which is where i notice them setting themselves apart from a lot of other NE IPAs. i don’t know if it’s the oats, but this one is even softer than a lot of their other IPA offerings. pretty delicious and extremely drinkable DIPA.
