Shipshape is a Czech-style lager featuring a classic yeast strain, Bohemian pilsner malt, and copious amounts of zesty hand-selected Saaz hops. A carefully constructed beverage, Shipshape undergoes a complex mash program prior to heading to the cellar for lengthy conditioning in horizontal stainless. Patience and a studied construct result in a crisp beer that tastes of potent noble hop character, biscuity malts, light dough, and mild mineral water atop a light body. Enjoy it cold in the heat of the day!

Crisp golden pour with a bright white foamy two finger head. The nose brings malt and dough up full. Always a pleasure to taste an American craft brew that pays true homage to the Euro style. It's a classic crisp pilsner--biscuity and a wee bit citrusy with a refreshing bite that will take the edge off any warm summer day.

Light gold pour - very slight haze. Smells of lager malts and Saaz. Taste follows suit, but adds a bit more bitterness than I was expecting, along with some lemongrass notes. Comparing this to Tree House's Easy Does It lager (a favorite of mine), it has a more pronounced bitterness on the swallow and less sweetness mid-palate.

Can: Poured a clear yellow color lager with a medium white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of clean cereal notes with some dry Saaz hops notes. Taste is also a mix of clean cereal notes with some Saaz hops notes with very faint residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Refreshing lager with great drinkability and nice dry hops.

On tap from a side pour at the brewery in Charlton. Tree House mastered hoppy beers and they’ve moved into mastering the craft of lagers. This beer is no exception. Great malt bill, incredibly smooth, beyond drinkable. World class!

The people have risen up and demand a good pilsner, not sugary and pricey stouts, not fruity beers with quick souring, but a well made lager. This beer hits the style, but not beyond that, sending us looking at those who produce a good pilsner. Decent maty mouthfeel and a bit of hop flavour in residual aftertaste.
